I won't get myself banned for fools. I will say that the admins can see my pm's to verify. I may just post the contents and not the person who made the statements. I have no stake in people not buying tunes. Hell I was going to buy one. That's why I pm'ed him to begin with.

Modern manufacturing technology allows most manufacturers to easily exceed 200,000 miles of reliable life these days. Bumping the output by 5 or 10% and improving efficiency is hardly going to make a dent in those expectations assuming good maintenance and a responsible tune.

I have about 95,000 miles on my 06 gt and I have had a BamaChips tune and a Airaid cai on it since about 15,000 and I have had no problems. My dealer even did the trans under the extended warranty and never said anything. It even passed the smog test.

I only went with a light tune as it is a daily driver for me when I am home. I also checked with my dealer who said that for any part of the warranty to be void for a failed item they will have to prove that the CAI, tune, or whatever mod was a direct cause of the failure. That is often the hardest part when it comes to mod's to PROVE that it caused it.
This engine is also so under stressed as it is, that a modest tune i.e. smoothing out the power curve, skip shift elimination and a 10hp (I am guessing) gain is not going to hurt this engine.
Even going full bore and putting on a blower, (which I and my dealer want me to do ), I really don't think that Edlebrook would offer 60,000 mile warranties for under $800 if they felt they would be replacing engines every 10,000 miles!!
On a side note, the Airaid CAI can be installed without the need to even apply a tune unlike some others.

This discussion is crazy though. All we have is paraphrasing of one party and best recollection of the other. For all we know the anonymous source just meant you won't have long engine life if you run it up to 8k every shift.

I'm from the South. I was raised, if you can't say anything good about something....don't say anything at all. I was raised, if you see or hear something you don't like......don't look or listen to it.
Most of us are here to share and to learn about our Mustangs.
The big name tuners have been making tunes for our Mustangs (and other cars) for many years. I feel (in my opinion) if engines were messing up because of the tunes, it would be all over the internet. I sure wouldn't have bought a couple tunes for my V-6 if i had read anything about engines blowing up because of the tunes.
Its so easy to start a 'New Thread' about almost anything you want to talk about on The Mustang Source.
This Thread was started by our fellow Mustang owner MustangGTPilot, to tell us how he is happy with his c.a.i. and tune..........and now back to topic.....
Its really cool how the tunes wake up our engines (even on my V-6). Once you settle down with the new found power, you will see a little better gas mileage also.

Please..... I can't believe the nonsense people are posting...
A Tune and CAI on a stock engine WILL NOT ruin your motor, or VOID your precious warranty. Will items like a CAI or Full Length Headers cause the Ford Service Advisor to be a little more, shall we say picky, about warranty work, maybe, but they wont VOID your warranty.
The Ford Mustang has had healthy aftermarket support for 40+ years, and Ford would not have a loyal Mustang following if they were habitually VOIDING people's warranty's.
Remember, were only talking about a TUNE and CAI for god sakes, NOT Nitrous, a Turbo, or Blower, as that's a different story.

David: *sticks fingers in his ears* "LALALALALLALALALA!!!"
Nothing personal intended but your approach is a dangerous one. We live in a world full of things that we don't want to hear and learning how to deal with them and act appropriately is the essence of being a mature human being.
Then again, I'm a northern Yankee. What the hell do I know?
Yes, I too have my doubts about this alleged tuner's negative words...but I want to know if he had specific reasons for his comments.
In the mean time...I'm going to upload my new 91 octane performance tune!
If it turns out that prolonged use might damage the engine, I will certainly remove it...
