Yes, its not an option in 2010. Its NOT on the order guide, but its loaded in CONCEPTS. An oversight by someone in Dearborn? But it is NOT an option now! Maybe down the line, but not now.

I'd still say your best get is to go off of what the current package is. Google "mustang 54u" and you will see that it is a package consisting of a few body parts that ford installs in the factory in preparation for sending the car to become a Shelby GT, such as the CS bumpers. The price is already pretty close to $2000. It's even listed as the "upfitters package".

I'm definitely not saying there isn't going to be a 5.0. I believe there will be. In fact, I go to sleep each night dreaming of it. But it doesn't make sense to think that Ford would reassign their Shelby GT body kit code to be an engine option code. Just my $.02.

I KNOW what 54U is! I work for a Ford dealer, and helped start the Shelby GT thread back in the day here!! I'm just stating what the option code stood for in CONCEPTS, and it wasn't a GT Upfitter, but a V8 Upfitter pkg!

Actually looking back at some older order guides, it appears all of the 54X order codes are all cosmetic appearance packages.

From 2005-09:
54V - Exterior Sport Appearance Package

From 2006-09:
54P - V6 Pony Package

From 2007-09:
54G - GT Appearance Package
54C - GT California Special

From 2008-09:
54S - Warriors in Pink
