I used to have two Mustangs, a 2001 Mustang GT and a 1987 Mustang. The 2001 was a Red Carpet lease, the 87 I owned. Prior to the 2005 redesign, I had planned on several scenarios: A.) Buy my leased 2001 B.) Buy a new Mach1 C.) Buy a SVT Cobra.

At the end of the lease, I decided not to buy the 2001 GT, because I had seen concept drawings of the 2005 Mustang.
After the 2005 Mustangs were in production, my wife talked me into waiting. She wanted us to save up more money for a better down payment.
Since that time, I have sold my 87 GT, and have nearly bought a Mustang GT 5 or 6 times. I tried to buy a 2006 GT when Ford had 0% for 72 months, but all were sold.

Last September, my wife said to go ahead and buy a Mustang, because she was sick of hearing me talk about it. I decided to wait a little longer. I really want something with a little more H.P., truthfully, I want a SE.

I asked my source about SE's and he said Ford is working on "something". I asked him if I should buy a 2009MY or 2010MY, and he said to wait for the 2011MY because it will have the new GDI V8. So as of right now, I am waiting to buy a 2011MY GT or SE.

But.....my wife is going to crap, when I sell or trade that 2011 for the new 2013 redesign.

Yep, timing is everything!

Well according to my source, the new redesign won't take place until during the 2015 model year, with an expected April/2014 launch.

As Ford is not about to launch their all new Mustang, with just a year remaining before reaching it's 50th anniversary.

I'm wondering: Does this mean the 2010 really will be the first S197 MY to actually get the 5.0 (rather than the 2011)?

FourCam updated the thread. If you can read thru the BS argument going on he says Aluminum block and with bolt ons your looking at ~450rwhp. He is not sure if direct injection will be available first year.

From my understanding, it's the 2011MY that will get the 5.0L GDI

Most people who post insider info to the point of building up followings have attitudes, Blue II and FourCam are no exceptions.

You can only take naysayers for so long.

They expect you to show them absolutely everything.
I can understand that there's more BS than truth out there...

...but I would trust the news that FourCam puts out, no question.

BlueII hasn't posted on BON since Jan...
It's interesting to read how things unfold.

I think Blue II and Richard Jensen got into it a little bit, and hence Blue hasn't posted.

All this 5.0 AL 4V no DI talk has many current 4V owners salivating (if some parts can transfer which has yet to be confirmed, or at least I haven't read as such). . . . including me!

2015 wouldn't surprise me, but my source said 2013. He didn't specify if it was 2013MY or 2014MY. My source also told me 2011MY for the GDI V8.

I remember a comment towards igor as well... (not sure if it was blue) but not word for word it was like "I'd tell you, but you'd just take it and summarize it in your blog" making it look like it was insider news.

Its because of the altitude out there. The higher octane won't do you any good without the extra air you get at sea level. Now if you are running a supercharger then that might be an issue.

I just cant see the 400 hp motor being in a base GT. Maybe the "special" edition. But Ford just never really want to give the GT the good stuff. Just the "good enough" stuff.

Hey why don't you just keep waiting until the 2055 "George Jetson Edition" Flying model comes out? Life is to short man, just get one!

Yeah, he was upset that he didn't get credit.

I could totally understand people getting upset with that.

Taking info, posting it as your own, and not pointing to where you got the info or not giving credit.

Ok so here is a question.... assuming that the engine we end up getting is a 400hp 4v AL DI how will this compare to what we currently have potential wise? I mean with our current cars and 5k you can easily be sitting at 500-550 hp at the crank with stock internals . So my question is for the same amount of dough (best guesstimate ofcourse) what do you guys think this motor has the potential? Does it truly have the possibility to blow our current GT's out of the water?

2011MY isn't that far away.
A 2010MY SE with 350-400hp would get my attention.

I've waited this long, I may as well continue to wait and get what I really want.
