Very obviously April Fools joke. Aside from the "no way" use of the Mustang name, the use of the existing architecture for one model year, follow quickly by the new body style, makes no sense.

 

Here i thought Ford already pulled off a good April fools joke with the 2013 front end.

This thing is sick looking. Ford def needs a v8 powered sedan. Just bring the falcon to the states.

 

 

So why haven't they pulled this...or at least admitted that it was an Aprl Fool's joke?

BTW, there already was an S197 sedan and it didn't sell that well.

 

Might be because it was an overprice Lincoln and not an affordable ford branded car, take the charger, it's a very popular car but it's also kinda cheap. People just like sedans

I don't think a mustang 4 door is a goo move but maybe something like it would move well

True. It was offered with a V8 OR a stick...but not both together.

I think the car missed the mark for other reasons too...but it wasn't much bigger nor much heavier than a Mustang, IIRC so I bet you could extrapolate what the Mustang Sedan would be like if they ever made one... though probably much stiffer since the chasis has been developed and improved in the past 10 years.

 

I really like the 4 door. I would buy one. The G8 is still an incredibly popular used car. I f i could get a ford 5.0 in a G8 I'd be rushing over to the dealer right now. April fools joke or not, Ford should build it.
