With everything Ford had done right with the Mustang, I find that hard to believe. Buying a 13 just in case though (and avoiding 14 so I dont feel guilty about modding the crap out of it)!

I guess the definition of bad should be defined here. I think what you are trying to say is accurate in reference to the fact that the 2015 is going to look nothing like the 05-09, 10-12, 13-14. Otherwise I'm sure it will look awesome. But I'm fairly open minded.

Why don't you give Ford a chance to show you what they have in store for us before writing the new car off. You do know that the retro thing has to eventually come to an end and they have to go modern. Its the right time to do that. The new car 50 years in the making, ushering in the next generations of Mustangs!! I personally can't wait. My only fear is how much its gonna cost!!

Because I am a negative person, lol. Plus I was greatly dis-appointed in 1994. Also afraid the Probe might come back....

I don't know whether it will or not, but the possibility is there. Simply put, the '13 is a known quantity. I might love the new design but I might hate it. I already love the '13. Doesn't make sense to wait and hope the '14 or '15 or whenever they designate the new design, will be something I love as much as I do the '13.

I'm sure some will love the new design, but I'm betting it looks a lot more like the new camaro than a lot less. To me, that's a really, really bad thing.

The Probe was no Mustang but I had an 89 Porbe GT and it was a great car. Never had one thing wrong with it and it got 35+ MPG on the highway.

When the 2015 comes out you can bet that people will be saying they look too Japanese or German and they'll be scrambling to buy a 2014 saying how they look so much better. I personally like the 2012 and the 2013. I now own a 2006 that I'll either keep for awhile longer or trade it in for a 2013. I'll make my decision when the 2013s arrive at the dealers and I can see for myself what they look like and what the Deep Impact Blue looks like out in the open.

Disagree. The white looks great on the new body style.

+1

It's time, I have left the BMW/Benz/Lexus brand for the 2013 stang... Many I know in this arena wish Lincoln would follow suit like the Cadillac. Exciting times ahead if the American car companies stay this course. I can see how some of the old school crowd feel this negative, but many of us left because the product was just....OLD...if the new stang comes in as another Upgrade and takes on the euoro's then my order for the 2015 will be in soon enough.

I can only hope that the Shelby, or new stang has a paddle shift option .... That is where they need to go. Price won't matter much if they build out a quality
Product....I couldn't go with the boss or Shelby because it only comes stick, and as a DD and my wife driving once in a while ....couldn't risk her trying to learn how to drive standard on one of these.

As a comparison, I looked at the Lexus IS 35O convertible...60k with taxes...and it has 305hp out of a v6...... The next car, Benz 350 convertible...285hp...and that was 68k taxes in....then I looked at the 3 series BMW, same, 65k taxes in.....I went to look at the 2912 mustang for fun...v8 400 plus hp, loaded at under 45k taxes in....the build quality and what you get....is an awesome car for 20 grand less than all the others I noticed....the 2013 order for me for a tad more, was a NO BRAINER !!! There is not 20 grand in leather or build quality in the other cars I noticed....

Ford is on the right path....stay the course.....look forward to the 2015.

Absolutely no reason to hate on the 2015 Mustang just yet. Not sure why on earth anyone would think it'd be a new Probe...

I dont think it will be the new probe but I do remember when Ford thought they could replace the Mustang with it. Not hating the 2015, just preparing for the worst.....

The concern about what direction the Mustang is going is real. The new "Design Language" as previewed in the new Fusion is not very reassuring. I see a repeat of the Mustang II. A 4 cylinder Eco Boost is fine, in a Focus. Along with Ford pushing into the upper reaches of The price range with each new redesign I see the end of the line...

Count me among those that saw the 13' and still bought a 12' ..

This kind of update was needed to compete with the Camaro. I don't hate the new appearance changes, but I definitely prefer the 10-12' looks, as they appear admittedly more retro than the 13' MY changes ..

Plus, the new LED DRLs look a little out of place on an S197 Mustang.

I realize that this is one of those features that will be unavoidable in the future, as they offer increased visibility (which is never a bad thing).

*shrug* I'd still consider purchasing a used one down the road. To each their own, I still consider the 2013 MY to be badass as well, I just prefer the 12' MY looks more.

I saw the '12 & '13 and decided I am not going to pay $30,000 or more for a Mustang equipped the way I want, and I refuse to buy a stripper Mustang for $22,000 with nothing on it. I bought a 2010 well loaded with 12,800 miles on it in near immaculate condition and saved over $10,000. I have to say I do like the nose and hood of the 2010-12 more than the 2013 and I am completely over the novelty of the 2013 taillamps since I got nice looking black taillamp trim to tie the taillamps together better with the decklid blackout. Prices have gotten so that I have bought my last brand new car ever. If I decide I like the 2015 Mustang enough to want one, I will wait for depreciation to take a hit and get it two years later or something. I really don't need to have first new on the block...

Too many overdramatic pessimists! There is no way the Mustang will ever return to anything near like a Mustang II. That means no crude, lowly and slow Pinto-based mechanicals. The current Mustang is too big and it is just 1970's history repeating itself. Now I am not saying the next Mustang should be an anemic FWD car that is too small. I just think there needs to be a reduction in length and some width. Of course it should remain RWD and I certainly do not mind if it has 4-cyl Ecoboost engine as standard in true SVO spirit as long as Ford will offer V6 and V8 options for those who want it. Ford should be able to show off 4-cyl tech as well as V8 tech. As long as a Mustang remains fun to drive and good looking while paying respect to tradition then I see no problem.

It will be nice to see a forward evolution of the Mustang theme worked into some new shapes and forms.

It definitely needs a facelift. I really haven't liked the mustang body since 2005. With the exception of a couple special packages, they have been boring. 2010 was a big disappointment to me. I'm hoping 2014 or 2015 will be exciting. And also would like to see it slim down a bit also.
