That makes sense... but still, for 60-65k, I'd like something to function AND look good. IMO, the 2010 - 2012 Shelbies are perfect. To echo a poster from above, the 2013's are borderline gaudy, if not over the border.

To each his own, I happen to like the way they look better than the 10-12's, and I'm not saying that because I'm buying a '13. I don't like the license plate surround, and will look for a solution aftermarket-style. However, I have always preferred substance over style, and if that means the style has to "suffer" in order for the substance to be more, shall we say, substantive, I'm all for it. As far as price, I can buy a beautiful interior in a BMW or benz for $65k, but it would be wasted on me. I just don't care about it. But like I said, to each his own. Lots of variety for the car buyer, so we all have something that will make us happy.

I'm with you. I don't understand all the hate just because the 2013's functional grille -- wide open to feed the 650-horsepower beast cold air -- doesn't feature honeycomb like the 2010-12 GT500 grille. I definitely don't see the 2013's grille as being "gaudy."

Only problem I have with the grille (or lack thereof) is that everything is completely exposed. I'd say there will be quite a few condensers, heat exchangers, etc. being replaced after a rock or some other road debris puts a hole in it (or at least beat to hell with crushed fins after some miles.)

It's funny you posted this. Several months ago, I had a bird get stuck in my Saleen grille! Unfortunately, he didn't make it.
