Is this the last week for scheduling 2013 Mustangs? If not, will any cars be scheduled during the shutdown, Nov 5th to Nov 25th?

 

Heard from Deysha today (thank you, sweet lady) that my coupe finishes the build process tomorrow (Friday), and ETA at my dealer is put at Nov. 13, give or take. Good news, but I never thought it would take approx. 14 weeks to procure a garden variety Mustang. I have been ordering new cars for 40 years, and I have never had one take more than 8-9 weeks from order to delivery.

I believe so. Shipping and scheduling is still up and running, just not production for the next 3 weeks.

Deysha, If possible, could you recheck my pony's status around the end of the day today. I just want to know when it gets loaded on the train. Then I can bug my salesperson for the railcar number, so I can follow its progress all the way to So. FL.

I don't know. I think overall that mine is moving along pretty well. It's only been 4 1/2 weeks since I ordered it. I'm guessing it will arrive around the first published ETA of Nov. 11th, rather than the current ETA of Nov. 6th. You just keep enjoying your new pony, LOL.

 

I would so do this if I could! If only to make the truck driver super paranoid! LOL!

 

Got my window sticker this morning and the blend date appears to read 2012 12 03, anyone else get theirs? I was under the impression window sticker means within a week?

 

The factory is shut down to re-tool for the 2014's for three weeks in November.

 

Your window sticker is just appearing early because production will be shut down for a few weeks, so there's no chance your pony will be built earlier than that blend date.

What are they re-tooling since it is the same body? Or is this something to do with the paint process?

 

I think there is a new 3 coat wet paint application they're implementing.

Re-tooling does not only mean change out some tools, 1992chpb4c. It’s also maintaining some of them, as well as all the construction/additions coming in those 3 weeks.

Oh wow then nevermind! Mine was delivered 3 weeks ago so that would of been impossible.
