2013 Ordered/Built/Delivered Thread
#2644
Well, it's time for me to bow out of this thread. Many thanks to Deysha and the others here for the info & updates regarding Ford's ordering process. I can't say that the experience was enjoyable, but with all y'all, it was bearable.
Thanks again.
All of you still waiting for your vehicles, especially the GT500 folks. GOOD LUCK! Patience is a virtue. And if that is not one of your virtues, Deysha will put up with you if you politely ask her for weekly updates.
Thanks again.

Thank you Deysha and my Dealer!
I feel lucky enough to have one of the few dealers who has kept me updated within a day of hearing from Deysha! I have a delivery date to my dealer on 10/30/12. I know it's an ETA but perhaps the shipping department has streamlined their deliveries. Here's to luck!

Ooh, you're right in front of me! I should have my sticker soon! The build date for me was quoted as the week of the 22nd... My fingers are crossed as well!

My understanding is that until the car is officially built Ford is giving an "Theorical" ETA based on the day it should be finished + typical transport time to your dealer. which is a "Best scenario ETA"
Then after the car is officially built they are then planning the routes and shipment and will revise that ETA. Your car then goes in "Awaitng transport" and will stay in the Flat Rock parking until your turn comes for shipping.
I understand that it would probably difficult for Ford to start planning transportation too early in the process as production can change and it can become a moving target, therefore that's why they probably wait until it's in the parking lot and ready.
In a nutshell that's why the first ETA is always closer the the build date, as it assume no waiting for shipping. But once it's complete they revise that date based on shipping backlog and becomes your 2nd, 3rd or 4th ETA..

I absolutely agree!!! Not only does she keep us up-to-date on the various steps of the process, but she gives us info that is helpful in understanding the process. If we're experiencing something that's particularly frustrating with the process, one thing is certain, it's not Deysha's fault.

It can take about 2 weeks for it to get on a rail car and ship, Dineau. Yours was put out to await shipment on Thursday, so it’s still looking good. BTW, it’s still at the plant.
PM me with your dealer’s name, location, and your order number so I can help, DarkKnight.
I hope so too, BluehazeGT.

I'm sure the options i picked aren't helping any. Track packs seem to take longer for some reason

On the way home from work (I work 5min from dealer) the truck carrying my car drove past me...so I turned around and followed it to the dealer lol.
Couldn't get it tonight as they need time to inspect/prep/detail, so I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow.
