Sucks to read about your dilemma with the paint and rail dust. Question I have, was your car delivered by rail or shipped by truck? Mine is coming by truck only. Wondering if the cars get covered by the rail dust while sitting in area 51.

If this had been me, I would have found a body shop that has a contract with the dealership, taken the car there, watched them do the repair & then charge it to the dealership. But that's just how I am.

My car is at the rail yard in El Mirage, AZ. I am hoping it gets picked up and delivered on Monday. But my dealership is about 75 miles away from me. I am hoping to have as much advance notice that the car is en route. Is there any way to track this to get an idea as to what time it will be delivered? I think Ford uses ATG for transport out of El Mirage. But I have been unable to find a way to track cars.
Are you able to provide any insight here?

NEVERMIND: I contacted the guy who runs ATG trucking for El Mirage. He said I could just go in and pick it up myself as long as the dealer calls and says it is ok. So I will just get the car myself.

Make sure you go over it throughly. When you sign the release, it's all your's, including the flaws and damage.

Thanks for all your help, I checked CSX Phone System and CSX unloaded the GT Grabber Blue off the Railcar at Jacksonville, FL at 4:45 PM today, I'm not sure how long it will take the Auto Transport Co. to get it to Clermont FL, about 3 hours from Jacksonville!

This brings up a question I have.... How do you track a car once it hits the local rail yard? Is there a way to know when the convoy truck has picked it up and is headed to the dealership?
I can track the train, no problem. But how do I continue to track things once the train drops the car at the local rail yard?

since sept. is the slowest month for sales, cars are flying off the production line and just from comparing other people's info it seems like mine will be here way sooner than oct. 15th as my dealer expected ( he lacked knowledge in the whole progress so I helped him some

Can you possibly find out what the delay on my car from shipping is?
It was built on 08/01/12 and had an original ETA of 08/11/12. There has been no update in the system since it was built on 08/01.
The car only has to travel about 30 miles to my dealer.
My patience is running thin!

so talk about being so close...this traveled thru my town today...stopped at the dealer in my town...whom i didnt deal with because they wouldnt even call me back when i inquired about my current car
90 miles to go to be at dealer...i let my dealer know it was coming...hopefully it will get there and get the PDI done and i will pick it up tonight...otherwise it will be tommorow
