Got the VIN, The Car is Canada, but my dealer can't find it.
Hey Everyone,
I ordered my car in April 2012, a GT500 Vert. I got the VIN in June. The build date was scheduled for Aug 6th, then pushed to Aug 10th. It was confirmed build with an ETA to dealer of Aug 22nd. Called Ford SVT. They said they only see one update per week. The last one being the train is at TORMACYAR ON. (which is 20 mins from my dealer). They said between 1 and 3 weeks. This Monday, the car arrived in Ontario. (about 20 mins from where I live). Called my dealer (dixie ford). They called all their trucking contacts and tried to trace it too. They can't locate the car. If SVT holds true, the delivery takes me to mid-end Sept. its already down to 8c in the mornings. What is the point when the weather gets cooler.
Here is my VIN if anyone can get more info.
I guess I am just really frustrated knowing that my baby could be 20 mins or 21 days away.

The Canadians really get bent over on the base price of these cars, but the options are a lot cheaper than in the US. How is that possible?

We do. We save $1500 on upgrades, but pay $6000 more for the vehicle, plus we pay double the shipping charge. Our extended warranty plans are approx. 60-70% more.
For what? The car has a metric speedometer and not an imperial one? Our currency is on par (or thereabouts).
Add that to the fact that we export oil to the US and we pay approx. 45-55% more for gas, 45% more for insurance...etc..Our taxes are 8-10% higher, we pay 13% sales taxes on everything.
Add all that up and it gets frustrating. I actually buy everything in the US and export it to Canada (except for this vehicle), as even after duties and taxes I am saving 15-20%.

Any news yet? I see folks on here have received their VINS and ordered a month after me. I know it may be the allocation thing, but I want my VIN! Maybe this month. Is the car I ordered in my name? I hear stories of dealers selling the car to someone who will pay more. I have a yellow sales slip and I put money down, so I am not as concerned as some are. I am just anxious and I am driving my wife crazy over this car. Of course this is just me ranting
