Got some friends who work the rails. They just passed me this info:

Car is currently on the V-BLUBEL3-21A en route to Clovis, NM… The current trip plan calls for the car to be switched to the Z-CLOPHX8-23A, due to arrive at Ford on Thursday evening. Train departed Holliday, KS at 1257 this afternoon.

Those long numbers are the actual train symbols (name). Car gets switched to a different train in Clovis. The final train should be in your area Thursday evening. That "hot tag" is paying off!!

I could be wrong, but I think hot tagging only applies to shipping. To get your car built, you need to know a scheduler in Detroit.

 

Can you recommend any?

My car was delivered last Thursday and every mile in it has been worth the long and painful wait!

scheduled eta 8/26...called dealer and told them no drill bumper and leave everything on there and call me...i would be there in 2 hours (100 miles away)

i have a floating vacation day and a floating appointment for exhaust

 

Hello Deysha. My Ford Zone Rep was on vacation last week but I did talk with some guys from Ford. They still say that my build is my dealer's next allocation and should get pulled soon. Not unrealistic that it could be built & delivered by the end of September / beginning of October.

If this is the case, it'd better get built soon based on all the delivery delays I've been reading that people here have been posting.

Ordered a 2013 Sterling Grey GT w/ Recaro Seats and Brembo Package ordered from Damerow Ford in Beaverton, OR on 8/20. No idea if the dealer has allocation, or when I'll have my car in-hand, so I'm keeping myself busy wrenching parts off my Lotus and getting it in saleable condition so I have room in the garage

Can you possibly find out what the delay on my car from shipping is?

It was built on 08/01/12 and had an original ETA of 08/11/12. There has been no update in the system since it was built on 08/01.

The car only has to travel about 30 miles to my dealer.

My patience is running thin!

Same boat as you, but mine has to travel a little farther. Dealer finally looked into the delay, he said that 500 or so stangs built at that time frame had faulty latches on the glove compartment doors... I dunno... Could be lip service or real.
Ford told him that it should ship today or tomorrow... Fingers are crossed.

I hear you and good luck! My car has been sitting since 8/7 and no one, I mean no one at Ford can tell me why or when it will ship. My ETAs have gone from 8/18 to 8/26 to 8/28. I ordered 6/8. My car loan approval has expired and now I need to apply for a new loan, I hope the rates haven't gone up.

Very frustrating. I don't think I will ever order a car again. If you get any info, pass it along.

Hang in there Joe. I ordered mine May 18th and just got it last week. I think you'll be happy..... eventually. Not sure if I would do it again but i'm a glad I have it at last. Nice to have a car no one else has given a test-joy ride.

 

Is this the first time you've ordered a mustang? This is par for course.
