The 2013 Mustang is officially here!
Many countries here have CO2 output based purchase tax on cars nowadays and these big old fashioned V6 and V8 engines don't stand a chance against the extremely low emissions stuff brands like BMW and Audi are putting out. This new taxation system is causing a massive move to 2 liter 4 banger turbos.
Further, a 2.0 liter turbo engine that is having additional "atmosphere's" pushed down its throat has actually gained what exactly? In terms of post combustion gases.
Not to mention Europe's high percentage of oil burners. With turbo's. :eyesting: :coughcough:
Someone in your gubmint has been drinking too much algore kool-aid and is being fooled by Euro auto manufacturer tricksters.
PS: how much of that 100k is tariffs, currency differences, Country & local taxes to pay for all those "free" bennies? No offense to you personally or NL. But to blame it on Mustang's alleged CO2 isn't telling the whole story.

I'm not blaming the Mustang's alleged CO2 output because that is undisputed. I'm just explaining that the higher the CO2 output the higher the taxes over here. No matter how much trickery Ford, Audi, BMW or Toyota for that matter applies to lower their emissions big V8 engines will always produce relatively high CO2 amounts and therefore bear our stupid high taxes making them unaffordable. We don't want 2 liter turbo's over here either, we want 5.0's, just as much as you guys do. But our government has made it impossible to own them unless you're Donald Trump. So if Ford wants to sell more than 100 Mustangs per year here a 4 banger turbo is the only way to do it.

On a side note, even though the taxes are high in Holland (we paid 19% sales tax on everything we bought while we were there), the quality of life is very good there and the Dutch are some of the nicest people on Earth.
That must be Patrick
He was fortunate enough to buy his Mustangs before they introduced this bizarre CO2 based tax system which basically trippled the registration tax.
True, but that only reduces the fuel costs. You still pay the exact same amount of registration tax which is the real killer. Plus the LPG conversion itself costs around $3000 and the road tax (annual tax for car owners) is almost double. If you do enough miles it can be a bit cheaper though.
Thanks
Imagine how nice we would be if we could all drive new Mustangs without those *#^&%^&$% taxes

It's a shame that it costs so much to import and own big engined musclecars in the Netherlands. Amsterdam has the Red Light District for - well, you know. What the Dutch need now is a Green Light District where you can own/drive any car you want as fast as you want for a reasonable price!

I do love the new rear of the 2013's however, being plastic, They will scratch so easy. I saw the 2013's at the LA auto show and it was horrendous. Granted, I will care for my soon to be GT500 far better, I agree with most that a matte black will be more gorgeous.
I may be a bit biased here but I think the new GT500 reat is one of the most gorgeous rears I've seen in a while (on both cars and women hehe)

I wish it had the variable exhaust like the Camaro/Corvette where it opens up with more throttle input.

Exactly! An Acura! I see 4-exhaust tips and it makes me think of something foreign. Has any other Mustangs (besides the overdone GT350 I think) sported 4-exhaust tips? Unless you have 4 pipes running from the motor I see no point in it.
Yes, I've seen Corvettes with 4-exhaust tips and they sounded okay, but I laughed at them for putting the 4-exhaust tips. I love everything about the new GT500 except for these things.
I will check out how they angled them, in person, though. I will give them a chance.

Actually a lot of GTs in the 60s had quad exhaust tips. I don't know if it was a factory thing, but I've seen tons of them at shows, and mostly on cars that were restored - not restomods. Personally, I like the quad tips. Since 2005, the Mustang has been headed into much different competition than before. Now with a 200mph factory car, Ford has to make the car look the part in regards to its competition. I can almost guarantee you there was an S5 in the design booth...
