2013 LCD display

The bottom of my LCD display seems to be too low and cut off. It is noticeable if manually shifting and in 2nd gear and the 2 looks more like a question mark. If I sit very upright the bottom of the 2 appears. Is this normal?

My '13 GT does it a little, but not as pronounced as yours.

Fit and finish my friend. They did not center the screen properly at the factory when they assembled the gauges. Seen this before... couple threads on here. You can take it apart yourself and move it up slightly.

Thanks - if it is something I can fix myself I would rather take care of it than take it to the dealer.

Mines low too but it's not as bad as yours. I can still see the bottom of the numbers.

A dealer would not disassemble the cluster and adjust the overlay. They would probably insist a new cluster be ordered.

Mine is that way and I posted it up about a year ago asking the same thing.

Did you ever fix it and if so did you do it yourself?

Since mine is barely noticeable and can only be seen when in manual shift mode, I haven't bothered.

I pulled the front of the instrument panel off and it looked at it and decide too much needed to be removed to worry about. It's covered under warranty and I might have them look at it if I need to take it in for additional warranty work.

Thanks for the link, Blown. Mine looks quite similar to yours. I think I will have the dealer look at it, I expect them to say there is nothing wrong since it appears normal unless you are in a comfortable driving position. They will probably say I have my seat reclined too far.

I also agree with your bringing it in to your Ford Dealer and getting it checked out, backin15. Please let me know what they say.

Have you addressed this with your dealer, SpectreH?

Deysha, I have not talked to the dealer. Mine is barely noticeable when in manual shift mode. You can't tell in auto shift mode.

Quick question: Would I need to return the car to stock (intake/tune) for warranty work?

Thanks, Deysha - I'll bring it in when the snow melts.

I don’t have say so on that, SpectreH. I recommend you speak to your service manager about this.

Update - since my warranty is about to expire I decided it was time to have them take a look at the LCD issue. They first tried to have me sign off on a diagnostic fee of up to $100, saying if it is normal Ford won't pay them for the labor to check it and it would be my responsibility. After 10 minutes of heated negotiation they reduced the fee to $50 then finally waived it.
Later that day I received a call that my car was done. When I asked what they found they said nothing, it is normal. I argued that it is not normal to have the lower part of the display cut off and they said it is "within tolerances".
I raised the white flag and went to pick my car up, only to find a big greasy hand print on my door.
Quite the opposite experience from when I took our Nissan in for service, our filthy car was returned washed and vacuumed.
Why am I feeling glad my warranty is up?
