2012 Mustang GT ordering information - Any more updates?
I don't foresee the Mustang being substantially slowed down. The new regulations will make it more expensive, though. It will cost some money to replace steel with lighter, more expensive materials. Using smaller, turbocharged engines can maintain current power levels while increasing fuel economy, but they will cost more to build. And unless Ford sells plenty of small, slow cars to bring their CAFE down, they will have to increase the prices of the thirstier cars to offset the fines.
And on another note, any word on what kind of accessory wheels are available for the 12 if any?
No Lava Red for the GT/CS. '12 GT/CS colors are: Grabber Blue, Performance White, Yellow Blaze, Race Red, Black, and Ingot Silver.
I did notice that the reverse sensing system available on other GT's is not available with the GT/CS - likely because it would require a unique rear bumper and wouldn't be ordered in big enough quanities to justify the expense.

Even if CAFE regulations were completely repealed, I doubt there would be much demand for an engine that big in a Mustang. It may be fun to fantasize about it, but a bigger block means more weight, and weight is the enemy of performance. Leave the gigantic engines for trucks, I say.
2013 (as a 2014) should bring the first major change to the car again.
I'll be the first to say now so, so many people don't have to keep asking, 2013 will bring next to no changes for the GT either, again except minor option changes, a color change or two, and maybe even the Brembo package available on the automatic.

Yes, I tried it in the order banks and it accepted this combo.
You can still wrap it around a tree at 80mph.
Has anyone heard what stripes are available with the Lava red? Is it just white and black, or are they going to have a special color or package? I am going to be ordering a 2012 Mustang GT and am still torn between Kona Blue, Black, and Lava Red.
I dialed into the order banks, entered a Lava Red '12 GT and the only over-the-top stripe color to appear in the options field was white (option code 852). No special package info for Lava Red either, and this new color is available on and Premium V6 or GT model.

Hmmmm...... And I notice Red Candy is not offered anymore?
