Sure is. I think Ford should give me a free 2012 Lava Red 5.0 with Charcoal/Lava red interior just because I came up with that color first......

(I think with the crap I've been through this year, I more than fully deserve it!)

My 2012 has been Ordered. Has been accepted. And as soon as FORD grants the "OK to BUY" on the reail orders they have accepted, it will be scheduled. As of today, the only retail 2012 Mustangs being scheduled are the Shelby and BOSS ordered.
I think Five Oh Brian said that he had some 2012s scheduled. I really do not know the scheduling process at all, but has anybody had any GTs actually scheduled yet? I guess it does not really matter when they schedule them, but I am curious as to when they will schedule my premium GT.

I got a call from our regional office late last week to schedule our first '12 Boss 302 and GT500, but no V6's or GT's yet. Sounds like that's coming soon, though. I have ordereded several of each so I'm just waiting for them to be scheduled at this point.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but has anyone noticed that according to edmunds the price on base GT's has actually gone down by $435 invoice and $500 MSRP ?

Can one of you dealer guys confirm this?

2011 GT 300A Coupe
  • $28,766 = Invoice Total
  • $30,495 = MSRP
2012 GT 300A Coupe
  • $28,331 = Invoice Total
  • $29,995 = MSRP
So, yes indeed, pricing is lower for 2012 on the base GT Coupe. On a side note, the 2012 GT 400A Coupe went up $200 MSRP.

So, I wonder what have they left off to account for the price drop???

Not the usual way they do things, usually a price increase like the premium car.

Was just thinking, it must just be a marketing ploy so they can say they have the only V8 pony car for less than $30K including D&D.

+1. Also, the GT Premium outsells the base GT by a HUGE margin, so maybe Ford is lowering the price to spur demand?

I'd order a base GT for myself if I could get just a couple of key pieces from the premium model (leather, power seat, steering wheel, etc.). I don't need SYNC, stereo, and fancy wheels.

The one legitimate complaint against the 5.0 so far has been that it's bloody expensive for a Mustang. This is Ford's response to that. Now they can say that you can get a 5.0 for under $30k. And trust me, they will. A lot.

I would expect that option prices would go up to account for that, and that the 401A will become more expensive, possibly by the amount that the 300A is cheaper.

Just looked in Vehicle Visability (tracking system) and low and behold my first Mustang (Shelby-Sold order), has a Vin number and a build week of Jan 17th, so the 12 scheduling is underway.

Just found out that ENCS scheduled my order for an '11 GT too late... I ordered it on February 13th... so now they're going to order a '12 GT. For the same price as I paid for the '11 GT, rebates ($2,250 worth) and all.

I'm ok with this.

Well, since my delivery date was supposed to be 2/25, but the earliest scheduled delivery date is theoretically 4/1 for the '12s, the back office is trying to get Ford to give me one of the first units off the line. Which would be pretty sweet. What if I was the first to order an '11, and the first person to get a '12? How awesome would that be? lol

yea, I'm just wishing I got that deal instead of losing all the rebates from the 2011 I ordered.

Well apparently I'm "price locked" at what I paid for the 2011 as of right now, but evidently if the rebates go up for '11 before I take delivery, I'm assed out of those. I'm gonna email her and see if she can change that, as it's not my fault they failed to put the order in within the 10 months they had to do it. I was informed today that a guy that had his '11 GT scheduled for delivery late march (a month after mine) got his put in. *sigh*

Yup, they're scheduling '12's now . Just got a VIN # today for the Lava Red GT I ordered for myself (not 100% sure if I will buy it - gotta work on the wife a bit).

Thanks for keeping all of us informed on the progress. I will check to see how my 2012 GT in Lava Red is doing.
