I'll agree with you here, I hate the sound of Nissan's 3.5L and larger V6 engines. Hopefully somebody will try to get an Alfa-esque exhaust note, V6 soundtracks don't get much better than this.

If so, the RPM's of an '11 MT V6 in 1st gear with the stock 2.73's is within 0.3% of a '99-04 V6 MT 1st gear & factory 3.27's.
This combo to me is plenty peppy ... so much so that an open differential and crappy Goodyear LS touring tires should have never been put behind it; yet this was the only you could get it from Ford.
With an added T-Lok, Quad Shocks, Rear Sway Bar, and some Perfomance tires, it hooks up rather nicely. Even with my minimal mods (maybe 225-240 HP / 240-250 lb-ft at flywheel) there is enough torque multiplication to do a big smokey burn out.
With the 3.31's in an '11 V6 MT, cruising RPM's will be within 1.6% of a '99-04 V6 MT.
To me the whole point of having that "EXTRA GEAR" is to get the RPM's down on the highway and the possibility of getting better MPG than many pathetic 4 cyl cars are capable of.
I'm sure the 3.31's will be fun, but you need to ask yourself ... are they really neccessary for THIS particular car ??
I'll agree that the stock 2.73 gears in '94-98 V6 MT Mustangs were way to low as the T5 had the same 3.35:1 1st gear as the '99-04 (it WAS however a better final drive gear for an OPEN differential). So if this is what you think of when you hear 2.73's, the '11 V6 MT has 16% more RPM off the line than a '94-98 V6 MT with the same 2.73 gears.
