There are usually a couple of "press days" before the show opens to the public at large. The cat should be out of the bag December 2nd or 3rd.

Look up a couple of replies......the order guides were originally expected to be released today. That should have given us a load of info.

 

Interesting tidbit: 2011 GT with 401A Premium Trim Pkg or 402A California Special not available with 3.73 limited slip axle - just 3.15 or 3.55 limited slips.

 

Great. Here we go again with Ford's options circus. Why is there always some "genius" at that company that tries to limit what options someone can get on their car? I'm talking about the inexplicable decisions that refuse to allow someone to get the Premier Trim option with a Bullitt or a California Special, or the comfort group with the Bullitt. If options is where that company makes money on automobiles, doesn't it ever occur to someone there that the same person who's willing to pay for a Bullitt package, the stripe and bling free-for-all which was the California Special, or a 3:73 limited slip axle, might also be willing to pay $300 more for the wrapped and stitched dash (among other features)????

If all options were available when I bought my car, I'd be driving a different car. It would either be a California Special w/ Premier Trim and FRPP power/handling (sort of like a Shelby GT w/out the Shelby on it) or a Bullitt with comfort group and premier trim. Of course, these vehicles exist in a world where Ford isn't run by idiot accountants!

Now here we go again. Want a 3:73? Great! Sorry, no premier trim or Cali Special for you. Want a track pack? Great! Sorry, no backup camera, glass roof, or accessories. Can someone explain why Ford does this?

 

The more you increase variation (allowing multiple option configurations) the more you increase costs.

But I do agree with you that it's stupid. I would be someone wanting the 3:73 AND Premier trim

 

I can't explain it. Keep in mind, though, that at this point we don't even know if the 401A Premier Trim package or the 3.73 Axle package will include the same things for 2011 that they did in 2010. If they are the same as in the 2010, I guess I'll have to get the 3.73 axle package and just get the Bullitt style shift **** separately. I don't care that much about the different upholstry in 401A but I sure like that aluminum shift ****.

 

there's no reason to trade up just because it has more HP and displacement (unless youre making a living off racing haha). It doesn't make much economical sense to me to keep givin out money for the next model.... the next model is ALWAYS gunna be an improvement (Unless they make a big mistake ha).... I went with the 2010 because I love the body style.. and from the "spy pics" I saw of the 2011... not so much

Yep, i think we missed a few spy shots....is it Dec. 2nd already !!!

 

There were some spy pics with minute differences, but we have no idea if those were just mules, preproduction models, etc.

Impossible to tell if there are any differences, although the fuzzy Car & Driver shots give the impression the white mule has the revised front facia from the "accessories" car at SEMA.
