2011 Mustang Stuff - some options
Okay, I did some digging in the Mustang 2011 Order Banks today and found a few more goodies...
Package 402A is, indeed, the GT California Special...
New options showing are 6-speed Automatic, Brembo Brake Pkg, and 3.15 Limited Slip.
I checked into 2011 V6 options and found a listing for a 3.31 Limited Slip axle. About time! Also, GT500 appears to get the Glass Roof finally and an optional SVT Performance Pkg.

I'm not sure about the glass roof. I have the vista roof option on my Flex and I love it because it makes the interior seem less cavernous. It doesn't seem like it would be necessary for a Mustang, being so much smaller. It also seems lame to me that the vista roof on the Flex is $500 cheaper than the glass roof option on the Mustang, especially since the vista roof opens over the front and is bigger to boot.
Sounds like I am going to have to look at a '11 Mustang.
Any word on whether Ford will finally put a telescoping wheel in the Mustang? That and better seat bolstering are the only two flaws of the 2010's interior.

I think the seat bolstering flaw far predates the 2010.
Apparently only the SVT department at Ford knows what a seat bolster is.
Brian, that's awesome info, thanks for posting! Wonder if 4.10s will finally make the list. Or better question... wonder how 3.73s will feel with a coyote?

Well, it certainly reads like it's only for the GT500....
Still not much showing in the order computer. Only thing listed so far is Shelby Convertible. Still shows 5.4L SC 4V V8 so same engine (but could get the rumored alluminum block). They do show a SVT Performance package (option 67F). Inlcudes 19" wheels,RR Spoiler with GF (Gurney Flap I'm assuming), OTT Stripe delete and last but most importantly 3.73 Limited slip axle!
But then the GT500 already comes with 19" wheels and a spoiler with a Gurney Flap. Unless they are different 19" wheels and a different rear spoiler with Gurnery flap

....or could it be a spoiler-delete option too??
All I want is a set of bigger rear wheels/tires for my '10.........and I hope they don't change the style, though~~

Not sure to be honest. I know it was rumored, but other details were still out from there. There's the possibility of TP2 being the SVT Perf. package too.
So, you've also confirmed Ingot Silver and Race Red as new colors for 2011, as earlier reported. Lots of good info.
I could see the V6 coming with the 3.15 as a standard axle, then having the Pony Package coming with the 3.31 gears in it. Just a way to further break up the performance for the cars.

Couldn't tell from the info in the order banks (which is notoriously skimpy on details). The actual order guides are due out soon (next week, we believe) and they give a thorough list of what's included in option packages.
I pulled my passenger seat (power/heated) out of my 07 GT for a race day recently and weighed it. 55 lbs for one seat! That's 110 lbs for the pair. There's an opportunity for weight savings if Ford could be creative somehow.
That would still be kinda snappy depending on how the the M6/A6 tranmissions are geared, the improvement in effciency would be pretty decent over the current gear sets as well. I recently read an article in 5.0 or MM&FF(can't remeber which) and the amount of power sapped by going from the 3.31 to 3.73 gear sets was an eye opener, but the multiplication in torque was worth it.
