How do you figure 35K minimum?

I'm guessing that at max we'll see a $1K price increase from the '10 if at all

They are going to be priced with Camaro and Challenger. Im sure base prices will be around what they are now. Of course once you add all the options and packages they will be very pricey. There are 2 '10's on a lot right now. Both coupes with all the goodies and they sticker for 38 and 39K. One has all the Ford Accessories on it.

Just ran into a guy at the gas station. Asked if i was going to trade in my GT for a Boss 302? He said his cousin is at Ford and said the Coyote will be putting down 400-425 hp in the Boss and the GT is around 360-365. I hope this dude is wrong but he did not seem to be talking BS as he seemed to know everything that was going on.

Despite the appeal of the magic 400hp number, I am still sticking to my guns on this one and agreeing with this. I think it will basically be the F150 tune in the GT with a few extra hp due to the intake and dual exhaust. Makes waaaay more sense, and a 50hp increase is nothing to be ashamed of.

If the GT was 400-425hp, where would that leave the Boss??? 475hp? That would be too close to the GT500 and a pretty lofty goal for an N/A motor. That's not to say it's impossible, just unlikely IMO.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

See, I can't believe how pricey the GT has gotten. There's a premium black GT with glass roof, navi, HIDs, 3.73 package, 19s and premium interior. It's like $38k, and our Ford dealer is doing so well they are adding on a $1k markup. Unbelievable. The Brembos should be standard on the GT dammit. The SS and R/T have them. And the gear ratios should be a no-cost option.

Boomer, you're right. This isn't the same old Ford. Now they're the new BMW nickel and dining the customer to death on options that should be standard. The navi and glass roof are understandable, but some of the other stuff shouldn't be as expensive as it is (including the base price). Depending on the price with options, I may just pick up an 04 Cobra and build it up to how I want it.

Say 275 for V6. Puts it on par with V6 Camaro for perormance, leaves Chally in the dust.
Say 375 for GT. Puts it on par with the R/T in terms of hp, on par with SS in terms of performance.
Say 425 for Boss. Puts it on par with SS/SRT8 in terms of hp, leaves them both in the dust.
Say 555 for GT500. Untouchable.

Now make them these prices for coupes:
V6 base 22k, fully loaded 26k.
GT base 26k, fully loaded 36k.
GT500 base 45k, fully loaded 52k.

Ford and the Mustang would make it game over for the Camaro and Chally.

Yeah, because we all deserve $50k cars that cost $25k.

I think Ford has done a great job of allowing people to buy the strippers they want, while also selling a high quality car. I would MUCH rather pay for the options I want than get a very well loaded vehicle that has to skimp on quality.

So if there is a Boss and a GT which would be considered the comparison for the Camaro SS. You know how these forum bench racing threads go.

I hardly think we're being short changed.

If you are wrong after all these months you better disappear and come back under a new screen name and visit more gas stations rather than listen to secret Ford informers.

Can someone with web savvy put up one of those nifty countdown clocks until the reveal at the LA auto show?

At the risk of getting off topic, I have to diagree that the Mustang is still the bargain it used to be.

With a few options, the GT coupe costs about 36 -38k CAD. I have an education, and a professional job, and I think I probably make a bit more than the average person, and there is NO WAY I can legitimately afford a car that costs that much. Not even close.
