2011 Mustang Paint Blistering
I faked a flat tire this morning and got it to the dealer. He said it is not the corrosion issue and he recommended nothing be done. If anything was to be done the panels certainly would not be replaced. He did take some pictures and my VIN and said he would send them to Ford but after I left realized he did not take my contact info. He also said I really should be taking it to the dealer I bought it from which is an hour south of my house, not sure why that would matter especially when I bought it used.
Here is a pic of the hood, the bubbles run the length of it along the front.

And here is the trunk - light blistering in random places:

Opinions? I would really rather not have it refinished unless it is going to grow enough to be visible with the hood and trunk closed. If the consensus is nothing to worry about the Lemans stripes go on this weekend!

That's the attitude of all four Ford dealers I've dealt with in the metro San Antonio area, and one in Iowa that I stopped at on a road trip. They don't want to do ANYTHING if they can 'talk you away'.

On the plus side, sloppy overspray isn't going to lead to your car's paint coming off like the blistering/corrosion thing so many of us are dealing with. Yes, it's unfortunate but I'd trade you any day.
I don't think that is over spray. It looks like the beginning of the aluminum corrosion to me. That bubbling looks EXACTLY like my trunk.
Any pics of the underside, seams, etc...? That's what's important, at least for this topic anyways.
Just brought home a 2007 with 95k miles... Didn't even know this was an issue... just figured maybe it was related to the prior owner's caretaking of the car. Hoping now after reading stories in this thread maybe the local dealership will help.
BTW, surprised to see you here Scott9050! Sent you a PM over at Threxx

You have a better chance of finding Big Foot. Ford came up with excuses to fix the problem when cars were covered. Yours is 5 years out of warranty so I doubt they will help to fix the problem they caused with shoddy workmanship.
What specifically did you see/discover?
Our hoods are fully functional, the hood vent not only reduces underhood temperatures substantially, it also improves the Mustang's aerodynamic characteristics ... everyone is entitled to their opinion, but most of the forum members have liked the look of our hoods:

sorry TJ... I love your other products, but can't get past the hood. I'll be looking at Cervini's or others when time comes.
With the pic you attached of the black stang (I assume it's a customer's car), that looks better than on your site because it's all body colored. The silver/black thing is what doesn't do it for me. Also, the mesh... makes it look cheap. I've seen many imports back in the day with those do-it-yourself meshes that look like they literally were made in their backyard while holding a beer can and some chips (and they probably were). I'm sure yours is functional and all, and of great quality, but sorry, I can't get past that look.
As for the 2nd hood, again, the black and silver is throwing me off. Can't appreciate the hood as a whole. Do you have a pic of a customer painting the whole thing 1 color?
Anyways, in the end, it's all opinion, and wanted to share mine.
