pretty close
My understanding is that they were developed independently. One is built on the Duratec line, one on the Modular line. Bore, stroke, and bore spacing are all different. However, they essentially used all the same tricks from the Ford grab-bag of technology, so the end result came out pretty similar.

A lot of the same technologies, but no not 'just 2 extra cylinders.'

That was an idiotic statement by Caroll Shelby.

No. It wasn't. Carroll was making the distinction between a motor tuned to "peak HP" vs one tuned to have usable torque throughout the RPM range. You know, from back in the days before variable tuned intake runners and camshafts, when you had to choose between low end torque, or high end horsepower.

Someone likes to incite others. It's kinda like a natural high for them. Rise above it cause its not worth it.

Thanks to fuel injections power bands have gotten a lot wider. I would offer average horsepower wins races.

CS has forgotten more than most will ever know about engines/racing.

And how many race cars have you driven, and then won in? How many race cars have you built that have won? Are you a racing legend???

P.S. A GT 500 is a street car, not a race car.

Probably from the guy who went around to gas stations telling strangers that the Coyote was only going to make 340 hp.
