2011 Kook's Long Tube Review with Suprising Results!!!
Hello again,
This time we are very excited to bring you our review for Kook's new Long Tube package for 2011 Mustang GT's. The results were quite impressive.
The quality of the kit is top knotch which is what you would expect from Kooks. The kit came with everything required to install these headers, including 02 extensions, gaskets, and mid pipe. These come with 1 3/4" primary tubes. They have 3" collectors and a 3" mid pipe which reduces at the end to allow for factory overaxle tubes. All of the components in this kit are made from T 304 stainless steel.
As far as installation is concerned, these are not as easy to install when compared to an 05-09 S197. If any of you have installed long tubes on SN95 new edges, the installation is very similar in toughness. This package is available in both catted and off road H/X mid pipes.
The only complaint we had was with clearance while installing the headers, which we seen on many headers and hindered ease of installation. Once installed, there are no clearance issues.
These headers sound great and really deeped the 5.0's already deep exhaust note.
Time for some numbers...
Prior to the installation of Kook's long tubes w/ cattd H, our 2011 5.0 6sp manual, running our Brenspeed CAI/Tuner package and Magnaflow's put down 392 RWHP and 379 RWTQ.
Once the installation was complete, our 2011 put down 417.5 RWHP and 391 RWTQ. These gains are extremely impressive and in our opinion makes them worth every penny. Overall, we saw 31.3 RWHP gains at 6,800 RPM, and 25 RWHP gains through out the curve. It also gained 24.2 RWTQ at 6,800 RPM and 11.8 RWTQ through out the curve.

Wow, competitive pricing, too. Thanks for sharing- now I need to get my wagon sold so I can order a set!
Will the catted versions REQUIRE any tuning, such as turning off the secondary O2s or do they actually function well enough to not throw codes? Mine will be catted but if I'll need a tune the headers will have to wait.
