11.69 @ 117 mph Minimal Mods 2011 Mustang
Today, I went to the track with our 2011 Mustang GT auto.
Only new mod was our aluminum 1-piece driveshaft. Previous mods were Stainless Works Headers, Catted Mid-Pipe, and Catback, 4.10 Ring & Pinion, Livernois Motorsports Dyno Tune, and skinnies/drag radials.
The car still has the stock airbox and no suspension mods other than a swaybar relocation bracket.
The next mods will be a converter and CAI.
The weather was better than previously
Density Altitude - 1939
Air Temp - 76 Degrees F
Barometric Pressure - 29.97 Inches Hg
Relative Humidity - 48%
Best ET 11.69 @ 117.55 mph

Also ran 11.70, 11.72, and 11.75 @ 117 mph
For those that think we have an optimistic dyno, the car doesn't even make 400 RWHP.

Not bad.
I still wonder if you couldn't get there with just a high stall converter instead of the 4.10 gears.
If I were to do it I wouldn't want to go that low of a gear, I do too much highway driving and would want to keep the highway gas mileage up.

Mileage didn't change much and it's still very drivable on the highway with the 4.10's and 6-speed auto.
We're installing a 4,000 rpm stall next week.... should be interesting.

I was told we can't reveal that yet. Still need to do some testing, then I will post up.
More consistent, easier on parts, quicker... We had a 2005 Mustang GT that made 800 RWHP with a manual trans and it was hard to get down the track and broke parts. We had a 2007 Mustang GT auto that made 540 RWHP and went 10.7 @ 131 mph on 20's and could be driven anywhere and never broke anything.
There were a few similarly modded manual trans cars there tonight and they weren't running close to the times I was.

Hard to say what the driveshaft gained, because the weather was better than last time out.
Previous best was 11.90 @ 116

Thanks for the link Rick.
I see what you mean. Might have half a tenth there if all else was equal but the weather.
The much lighter shaft with less joints has to be worth something in ET.
A back to back dyno run would easily show the rwhp gains. May not be the point of your mission though.
Best of luck for future runs/data.

As a stick driver, I appreciate the slammin' shifting of the auto. No way could I shift that fast. Then again, unlike an auto-trans, I CAN read my mind and so I know not to shift in the middle of a high-g turn. That's my main reason for going MT this time around. If they'd add paddle shifting or a true automatic clutch in lieu of a torque-converter I might be persuaded to come to the dark side.
