That looks pretty slick. I've been hoping for the return of grabber orange but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. So... what do you think? Black with red stripes or yellow with black stripes?

Yeah, just like I'd like to see Black as a stripe color on Grabber Blue on the GT500. That would match my 70 Mach 1. As it is I would have to go with Black with Grabber Blue stripes and have a reverse image thing going on, which isn't a bad idea either, I suppose.

The picture from the LA auto show looks like race red may have more orange than tourch red. What do you all think?

Not much different than TorchRed IMO.
But on a computer monitor, sometimes color looks way off...

I had hoped that it was a darker red and/or metallic. I gotta decide on going with that or Sterling in the spring.

I saw on this forum that they have Sunset Gold listed as a color for 2011. I thought that was a one year only color? Are they going to have Sunset Gold for 2011?

Another vote for Emberglo..... My first car was a 66 mustang coupe that was Emberglo with a black top.... It looked sweet...

Race Red looks a lot like the Rangoon Red that my 65 was orginally painted from the factory in. I'd like to go back to that color if I get the car painted some day.

Here a link to a 65 Mustang painted Ragoon Red. What do you guys think? Is it close?

Yes it is close but the new race red looks a lil more bright red. The red on the 65 looked a lil more dark deep red.

Yes, I agree. The paint on the 65 may have faded a little. Plus, it looks like some of the pics were taken on a overcast day. That might be why the 65's paint job doesn't look as bright as the 2011 Race Red.

If you look close you can see that there are clouds in the pic from the 2011. You can see them as a reflection off the hood and front fender. If the paint was a lil faded on the 65 it would have brightened it up a lil but not much.

I was never personally into red cars, but IMO that 'redfire' color was probably the best shade Ive ever seen on the new models...yes we have three Vista blues, but gotta admit in the sun, that redfire color looks better than the rest too me.
My personal favorite will probably always be 69 acapulco blue, it looks great rain or shine, light or dark, where the vista gets too dark except in bright sun. heres a pic of our poor old 69- still love this color with the black accents, ford had 'atlantic' blue back around 2000 I think that was kinda light like this, but ever since it has been the kinda pastel Windveil or the dark Vista, or the darker Kona now... I do wish they would bring back a bright metallic blue more like Acapulco or Atlantic. time will tell I guess
