2011 Colors??
no dark charcoal-y color, eh?
hrmph.
hrmph.
This is pretty much confirmed already, Race Red, Ingot Silver, and Yellow Blaze are new.
I would think race red would be similar to Mazda's Velocity Red, which is a red metallic with red/orange flake:

Sterling Gray is about as close as it comes. And it looks great in person.
With Kona being so dark, a dark gray would be too many dark colors.
I personally wish we had better blue options. Kona is way too dark, and grabber is way too bright.
A good medium blue just screams Mustang to me and is missing in the current palette IMHO.

I totally agree. I would love to see a guardsmen, Royal or a Indigo blue. I'm considering going with my 2011 GT500, performance white and would love one of those blues, Grabber is to bright of a blue. I'm looking for that classic Ford white with blue stripes look.

[repetitive rant off]
I don't think that's a huge factor in what replaces what. It seems like most companies are going with metallic paints recently, and that color may not have been a hot seller, when compared with Red Candy. I definitely think it'll be a more vibrant red than Red Candy, which should look good on the car.
If Ember-glow is anything like a bright candy apple tangerine orange, I'm all for it! They need to bring back a medium blue metallic color a little more intense than Windveil Blue. WB was too washed out looking! Or how about a nice medium bronze? With the current body style, this car would look good in just about any color! How about a light pearl hyacynth purple?! Or Diamond Blue Pearl ? Or a true bright Gold! A medium blue-green pearl would be nice.

I agree about Emberglo--best Mustang color ever. But IMO it really needs more chrome than the current 'Stangs have to set it off. I don't think it would look its best with all the black trim on the '10s. The new yellow might look sharp with all the black, however. So might Grabber Green or Calypso Coral.

Strangely, years ago car colors were based on 5 year old trends in lingerie colors...
Go figure.
Look at todays lingerie and realize your stang will be that color 5 years from now...

If anyone has a Costco nearby, head over and grab one of the Hot Wheels packs! There's a 2011 in there that is a pearly yellow (like the Lambo color). I BET you that is Yellow Blaze!
Just saw an auto journalist give a news story from the LA auto show. He was standing in front of a red V6 Mustang. The red looked too light to Candy Red and more like the the red Mazda in Overboost's post #22. It looked pretty nice - I hope that was Race Red.
I want to see them bring over Tuxedo Black from the Fusion. Black metallic IMO looks better, and can help hide some of the scratches, swirl marks, and washing imperfections that people tend to accidentally put on their cars.
We should start seeing some pictures this afternoon of the Mustangs after the press conference to show it to the public.
