2010 Police Mustang

So in the city I live in, we have a local 2010 Mustang GT black, undercover car. Every now and then, I see him pulling people over for speeding and other violations.

Today, I was driving from lunch back to work and I noticed ahead he stopped somebody and was chatting at the window. When I approached him, he gave me a friendly wave. His 2010 is a blacked out version and looks like any other mustang. Nice to see that cops can appreciate vehicles and be friendly.

I thought at first he was going to bust me for not having a front plate

I always thought it was really cruel for cops to use V8 pony cars for traffic enforcement. How humiliating to be nabbed by someone who you thought was a fellow enthusiast in a cool car only to find out it was just johnny law luring you into his trap!

They have been do it for years on the Mass Turnpike. There is the infamous Green new edge GT with a sinister s/c howl that runs up and down the pike pulling people over all day. It has regualr plates on them but when checked they are issued to the state.

They have been doing this in various parts of the country for a long time.

Back in the late 70's there was more than one sherrif's department and constable department that used Trans Am's to nab those pesky speeders.

Thanks for the tip. We vaca on the Cape every summer & use the pike to get there.

NJ uses black & white Mustangs on the interstates.

beware if you drive in Maryland north or south between exits 100 (Cecil Co. Dragstrip exit) and 67 (White Marsh)

there is a 05-09 black coupe up top and a couple 05-09 coupes plus a light blue conv. down low, all plain jane

I wonder if they ride up next to speedracers and gun it a little

I remember Tennessee Highway patrol had a few late 80's (new then) 5.0L Mustangs.

Don't forget about Oak Ridges DARE car David, I believe it is a early 90's, but it does have lights on it.
California ran all Mustang LX's starting in the 80's, and I do remember the Mass State police using unmarked Mustangs on the North end of 495 20 years ago.

I see that black GT around Falls Church all the time. Every now and then he'll have someone pulled over on 29.

There is a local department here that uses a blacked out 2009. The motor guys rotate with it.

I remember back around '00-'03 HPD out in Hawaii had a few black GTs. I always feared black Mustangs since chances were high that they were 5-Ohs... despite not being 5.0s

thats got me thinking...

if any particular police department wanted some V8 mustangs for highway patrol or whatever reason... now would be a great time to buy. theres probably a ton of 2010 GTs unsold and marked way down now that the new 5.0 is out. sure the 5.0 is faster but the 4.6 wasnt a total slouch.

hell they could even start buying discounted stripped down V6s and have a decently fast car.. i mean the V6 is like a modern day LX anyway, and now its actually got some grunt. ive seen 2011 V6s as low as 18,999 in some places

Haha that's the one! It's only like 30 mph there on Rt. 7 so it's very easy to get pulled!
