The original 1968 Mustang GT 390 boasted a 0-60 time of 7.8 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 15.2 seconds at 94.0 mph, according to Motor Trend. Now: Ford engineers modified the 2008 Mustang Bullitt’s chassis and suspension to fine-tune handling and ensure the extra horsepower and torque from the 4.6-liter V-8 is put to good use. Motor Trend clocks the 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt at 5 seconds even for 0-60, with a quarter-mile time of 13.7 seconds at 102.7 mph.

Obviously you wouldn't know performance or a home run if you tripped over it...

0-60 ¼ mile
1968 390 ci 7.8 15.2

2008 281 ci 5.0 13.7
I agree that the kids today have no appreciation for how much performance they get straight from the factory from that dinky 281 CID engine.

However, in 1968 1/4 mile time was limited by the crapola 1960s tires.
Put on some decent tires & traction bars on your 68 Mustang and see how many seconds you shave off that 1/4 mile time. I know, I had one.

Hopefully not a repost, as they already appear in the TMS gallery!

Supposedly this is a 4.0 V6, though it is interesting that there appears to be GT style foglights. Also, are there no hips? The last pic seems to show an absence of hips. Maybe it's the angle...

Looks like the V6 has the offset pony/tribar in the grille...

Those are 2 different cars.
V6 with Glass Roof, offset pony grille, single exhaust.

GT with fogs (or v6 with fogs)

the one constant between the 2 cars is the wheels.

I may be wrong and with the camo on it very hard to tell but does the body style look more like the 2000-2004 Stang? You guys would know better than me.

I like the offset pony/tri-bar, I think that will look much better than the current floating pony on the V6.

It's too bad about the single exhaust. I thought the V6 might get smaller duals. Maybe 2011 when the 4.0 is replaced?

If the convertible is a GT, it doesn't seem to have much of a "chin".

I have a feeling both are V6's, but maybe the big fogs are optional now???

Lastly, I hate those wheels. They've been in just about every spy pic yet and they are terrible (even for a base model). Maybe they will look better properly finished

Yes more and more it is starting to resemble the 1999-2004 Mustang with its straight edges and lines.

It'll more resemble a 2005 mustang with hard lines...
than a 2004

I guess its just hard to tell with the cover. It makes it look more rounded and soft.

Yeah, that's the idea. To hide the lines/curves.

I can't wait to see the look of it. I love the look of my 05, but I think it would look SHARP with harder edged lines ... which is what the '010 looks like it'll be

Such a tease. I want to see the interior now.

The guy driving it probable allowed them to snap pictures of the exterior, but not the interior.

We've already seen the full interior from all the other spy shots.

That's not the offset pony badge...That is the tail of the "bigger" pony

Really? I can't tell although you could be right. How come you can't see it in the other front end pic.

Yeah, if you blow the pic up...you can see its just the tail section.
Theres a big covered up black piece going down the center of the grille, probably why you don't see it...or B ) it isn't actually on the grille
