2010 GT500 Full interior shots and rear valance slip
But it is a GT500, I have no idea why a Cobra emblem on the steering wheel would convince you otherwise. We already know that Ford and Shelby are doing several more years of the car and since there is virtually now way Ford would do both in the current climate....behold the GT500.
I don't think the Shelby gimmick will continue to fetch the huge ADMs that the current 07-08 cars once received. I'm sure that the next gen Shelby will be better in every way but most "collectors" that spent 20-30k above sticker will most likley learn that that kind of investment is crazy (My local dealer that screwed me when I put down a deposit in 04' for a s197 SVT wanting 25k above sticker, now is practically begging me to buy an 08' model at sticker price........) The truth is the GT500 is not a particularly rare car and from the look of it, these cars will be produced for quite a while. I'm guessing that we will see a GT500 every year at least until the 10' model car is retired for an all new platform. We should also keep in mind that Ford needs to price cars accordingly because they now have competition
I do agree that their presence today is very low, but its better to know they are still around rather than gone forever.
I'd rather have these than the four rounds that Ford seems to use in every other car/truck

Looks like it definitely has a solid rear axle. I guess that really isn't news, though. Maybe it'll, at least, have a Watts Linkage. After reading several Parnelli Jones / Saleen reviews, it sounds like the Watts Link setup is a significant improvement over the current panhard bar setup.
SVT Sucks, I dislike the SVT badges on my GT500 more than the Shelby name badges.
I'm glad SVT is gone. My preference is simply different trim/model/package names on FORD MUSTANGS, like Mustang Mach-1,2,3 or 4, Boss 281 or 330, Bullitt Mustang, Cobra Jet Mustang, GT500, Cobra etc.

The sad thing is that SVT/Colletti didn't get to build the S197 "GT500". If they would have, the car would have been well rounded. Ford focused on the straightline performance of the GT500. Like I said, Colletti did some pretty amazing work on a wet noddle platform.
I miss well rounded. Handling is very important for me.
There are still SVT engineers, although fewer than before. The SVT marketing program was eliminated.
