2010 Compared to 1969-70's
Since I posted the Comparison of the 2010 to the 05-09's I've seen a lot of comments, most positive, with a few exceptions, such as this one.
Euro Look Bastardization?
Lets Just See about that comment of parking a 2010 Next to a 69-70 Mustang, Glory Days and All!

You win the "funniest post of the day" for this comment.
The '05 - '09 Mustang is SUPPOSED to look dated. It's a purely retro design. The whole purpose of the car is to bring us back to the glory days of the late 60's Mustangs. And that's exactly where the 2010 Mustang fails miserably. It's no longer a retro design, but more of a Euro-look bastardization of the '05 - '09 retro styling.
I'm just thankful that there are still new '09 Mustangs available. They will always be known as the classical retro styled Mustang. The '09 Mustang is the only new car I will probably ever own that I will not feel that I need to get a "newer" body style version of the car, just because of the fact that it's styling is timeless in a retro sorta way. Park any '05 - '09 Mustang next to a '69 Mustang and you can clearly see a very strong resemblance from any angle. Sadly, I don't think that's true of the 2010 model, especially from the rear.
Don't get me wrong...I'm not trying to hate on the new design. I just think it's silly of Ford to go to retro styling and then try to make the retro styling more modern. Then again, I guess it would have been weird to go from purely retro styling to ultra modern styling. I was wondering which direction Ford was going to go after the retro styling. Well, maybe I should say that I'm still wondering which way they'll go with the future styling of the car.

I dont get it....the 2005-2009 and the 2010 are VERY similar....I dont understand why some 2005 lovers loath this car.
Everything looks good but the rear. You can compare all you want but you not can compare the rear ends at all. They should have left them straight across just like they are on the 69-70. They should have limited the use of the black plastic or incorporated it better by making it smoother and not coming out past the bumper with the lip and ridge. If that rear was done better i bet you would have more loving this car than you do now. This is the biggest complaint.
Right, and the rear end was mostly the reason for my comment about it looking more Euro than the current Mustang. The weirdly contorted shapes of the body and taillights in combination with the black diaper give the car a Euro look, IMO. I'm obviously not the only person who feels this way...
By the way, it's not cool to quote me when nobody can read the post to which I was responding. You should really keep the quotes in their original thread unless you take the time to add all the relevent information.
My post was in response to someone who said the '05 - '09 models look dated. I find that funny because it is a purely retro design that is supposed to look dated. That's the whole purpose of the car. Maybe I should dig up some comparison shots of an '05 -'09 car at similar angles to a '69 Mustang. Then again, I don't really have the time right now...

So Anyone Can Read The Post Your Comment was about, and probably already had.
Go Ahead and Pull Up All the 05-09 Shots You Want, and Compare them to Any First Gen Mustang You Want, 64 1/2-73. You will see Lots of Similarities but The 05-09 Were Modern Cars with Mustang Heritage and DNA. The 05-09 Is Still a Good Looking Car, But It Was Not A Pure Retro Car Anymore Than the 2010 Is.
And If You REALLY Know Your Mustang History you would know that the Mustang Was Fords Answer to the 60's European Sports Cars that a Lot of GI's Were Used to Driving During the War. Smaller Lighter, Euro Inspired Design is What The Original Mustang was All About.

As far as Mustang history is concerend... I know exactly why the Mustang came to be. I still say the design wasn't insprired by European cars, although the size and performance was for sure.

The Mustang II was the first real attempt at returning the Mustang to its roots by emulating specific design details of the original Mustang, therefore making it a "retro" design. Are you telling me it doesn't look dated?
C'Mon Steven Keep Up Here! At Least Try to Make Your Point, Oh, But I Already Did. A Month Ago.! That Pic Looks NOTHING Like a Mustang of Any Model Year.
LOL, I'm a Christian and Even I think You Need Jesus to Fix You, Especially Your Eye Sight, if You Think the New Mustang Looks Like a Celica.
Wait A Minute

But Then Again Wasn't That Just a Copy of This?
