2010 brake replacement? mileage?

I have a 2010 GT(3.73 option with dual piston calipers) with appx 27k miles. Lately the brakes have began to squeak fairly loudly pretty much every time I come to a stop. My question is, what is the average mileage to have brake work done? It seems a little early to me as I had a 2003 GT with 50k miles and never had any brake issues.
Also, if I rub my finger across the front discs, they feel rough or routed, not smooth....is that normal also?
Thanks for any info...

How much pad material is left? You should be able to see it under the caliper, right before the rotor, if you see just the solid 1cm thick backer plate, you may be out of pad material. 27k might be all you get depending on your driving.

Most of the brakes places will do a free inspection and estimate for you if you're leery about doing this stuff yourself. But the pad (and even disc) replacement is pretty easy to do with a jack and some simple tools.

My brakes squeal time to time... Have since I rolled off the lot. Have had it in and out for the noise and they tell me it's my tire dressing that is causing the noise when heated up. I'm at 16,000

There isn't an average and rough isn't right. Get them checked.

Brake squeal isn't caused from the inside of the brake pad. It's the vibration of the caliper on the pad. Every auto shop sells brake be quiet or something like it

Usually a good hard stop from 80 to about 10 makes the noise go away.

Does this actually work? My mustang brake's squeal as well. So you spray it around the brake clipper?

And the areas that they touch the caliper, sorta the arms areas.

I've had good luck with going like 20 mph in reverse and slamming on the brakes.

Really? Never heard of that one before, I'll have to give it a try.
Just don't hit anything!
