I need some advise. I just came across a newer set (less than 250 miles) of 2011 GT500 Ford Racing 19x9 wheels in dark stainless with Nitto NT555 275/35/19 tires. Wondering if they would look strange on my car since it is not lowered. It currently has practically new 245/45/19 BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 tires on it. I probably won't be lowering anytime soon. Just don't want to look like I am ready for off road but it is a killer deal on the wheels and tires I don't want to pass up. Maybe switch the tires out? I am not sure.

The 275/35/19 will be a little shorter than your current tires. For reference, look at stock GTs with the Track Pack wheels, as the 275/35 are pretty close to the 255/40.

The SR Performance lowering springs are under $300 if I remember correctly. Check www.Americanmuscle.com for the price. There are other springs too, but more expensive

I just put the wheels and tires on. Looks much better. Not sure about the 275/35/19 Nitto NT555 tires. They don't seem as responsive as the BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 I just pulled off. At first I rean 32 rear/ 35 front then bumped it to 35 rear/38 front. Still seems less responsive at higher speeds. Kind of like a delayed reaction. Any ideas. If I need to move this somewhere else please let me know.

The Comp 2s are a much better tire than the standard 555s. The g2 555s are much better. Let me know on those stock wheels!

They are Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR. Are they the standard ones?

Yeah they only had one option at the time. The G2 just came out and was developed along with Steeda. The 555 is a very old tire, been on the market since like 2005 I believe.

the wheels look great, but good god that car needs a set of lowering springs!! I remember mine used to sit that high in the rear too.

Yes, it definitely looks like its ready for off road. What is a typical drop amount? I wouldn't want it too low where it is bottoming out. I measured about 3 1/2" space between tire/body in the rear and 2" in the front.

The Steeda Sports are always a go-to for someone who doesn't want to lower too much! Hit them up to see about a whole package. You'll need at least an adjustable panhard bar too.

For the record, I got the SR Performance lowering springs and my axle was centered within tolerance, had it checked on an alignment rack too. So you may not always need an adjustable panhard rod. If your shocks are newer too or have low mileage on them, you can probably get away with using the factory shocks.

That is why I asked that question last year about the lowering springs. I didn't want to add an adjustable panhard bar as well, but just wanted to lower the rear some. (I like the ride height on the front.) It all depends on how aggressive the drop is on whether you need a panhard bar or not, I guess. Always a great idea to do what Coyote5-0 did and put it on an alignment machine just to be 100% certain.
