Don't have an exact idea.
They need to be "showy", she likes the high gloss and overall design of the Alcoas, so we'll be looking for something similar, but with a fitment that is friendlier to wide tires

Good call.
Have you two given the idea of widening the Alcoas, or does she want something different for a "change".

My Mustang Club sponsored a show today...had about 50 club cars, plus quite a few non-affiliated Mustangs. Club cars were judged separately and while I never go looking for a trophy, I'd have love to have won one of these. A club member spent countless hours tracking down shops who were tossing old engine parts. He cleaned, sandblasted, painted and welded these together. Coolest trophies I've seen.

We have, but feel that widening an Alcoa is almost sacrilege, something that just shouldn't be done, considering how rare and expensive these things are ...

How is your hood doing as in oxidizing and paint bubbing ? Every Boss 302 I have seen hear had it as did my 07 GT/CS it all stared with most a year after new , they try a repair but that will not work at all. I had to fight with Ford for like 7 years to get a new hood. Keep a close eye for them blisters on the seams . Beautiful car 😋

Thanks Burton ... it's a magnetic "Please do not touch" thingy that I got in a goody bag at a show recently.

It actually worked

Dang, I like that! When I go to shows, I usually put a DO NOT TOUCH sign in my engine bay, and on windows/windshield. The magnetic thing is nice but then it would touch my paint, so would be a no-no too

I find those signs a little offensive....makes me want to touch the car just out of spite!!!!

I have no problem with little kids touching...as long as they don't have pizza, ice cream, or pocket knives in their hands. Fingerprints and smudges happen. Short young kids have to peer up into the car, and sometimes they do it before their parents can stop them. If the kid seems cool otherwise and his folks aren't douche bags, I'll let them sit in the car for a photo op. Same goes for hot 18 year olds....they always get an invite!!!!!

I try to be decent with children. I've been at shows where other car owners yell and chase them away. That's so wrong. You have to encourage them to keep them interested...they're the next car generation who'll be buying "vintage" S197's.

I agree Tom, feel exactly the same way. A couple kids went up to my car at that last show and we're just short of drooling on it. Their db dad was on his phone not paying attention. I was torn between intervening, but I think it was worth it to allow them to "touch" if only to preserve the next generation of car nuts. Eventually they'll learn, but they weren't hurting anything on my car.

Yeah, I don't even touch my car that way, strangers, children or not, aren't going to either. That being said, there's a difference between being polite in going about doing so. There have only been a couple of instances where I had to politely tell the individuals to cease what was occurring. Other than that, my audience has been mostly good.

Some pics from the weekend. Marilyn topped with Pinnacle Souveran this time...helped darken/wet the paint. My 2 favorite shots were when I saw the boat/skier come by (I timed it right so they just entered the frame), and the other was the black and white blend. The 2 shots are immediately below:

And here's the rest.

Lastly, bonus...I took a pic of her from my last car show.
