It was a coupe... And it is WAY overpriced. That dealership is notoriously bad.

Saturday I took part in a car cruise. Put 500 spirited miles on the car driving through the twisties along a route in northern Wisconsin. My supercharger worked well, as did the brand new custom dyno tune. I was the only piece of American Muscle, and the other drivers were completely amazed that my car was a 415 rwhp V6. The other cars were two Acura NSX, four Honda S2000, two BMW and two Lexus, and one Honda Civic SI and one Lotus Exige. Also along was a Ducatti and Yamaha motorbike. Here is a cell photo of my car during a petrol stop.

****...I should've bought one at X-plan pricing when I had the discount, and then sold it a few years later and not lose any money!

But yeah you are right, they are selling it for WAY high still. Insane. For that price, give me a new 16 GT350.

IMO, they are... You can/could've buy a new one for around that price. Why would I want a 20k mile Shelby that's been roadtrashed and cared for like it was a Honda Civic daily driver?

But yeah, not gonna compare the 2.
One has a super-high redline and is made for corners, the other has super-high TORQUE and is made to annihilate rear tires
Personally, I'm thinking '11-'12 GT500 (aluminum block 5.4), something I can easily get 650-700 RWHP and about the same amount of torque out of, and have a blast driving.

Sorry, let me clarify... I understand that the cost of a 16 GT350 might still be more than the used 13/14, but my point is that if I could just shell out a 5-10k more for a "new" GT350? I'd rather pay more for new, than get an abused, dinged up, $55k "used" Shelby.

It is indeed a rare occasion that you find a "dinged up" Shelby, or even an abused one. I think I know more guys who's Shelby is a garage queen than guys who actually drive their car on a regular basis. A friend of mine recently bought a 2008 KR with 1700 miles on it.

I would agree that 55k is a bit high for a ’13 GT500 with that many miles and apparent rash. This spring I was dealing on one down in North Carolina with the 821a package and less than 400 miles. Dealer said it came out of a collection in Arkansas. I got him from 62k down to 59k and he wouldn’t budge any further. It was a brand new car for all practical purposes. In hind sight I’m glad I didn’t buy it but it sure would have been a blast own! And for what it’s worth I agree with Gabe, GT350 and 500 are two significantly different cars. Best bang for the buck now has to be the C7 ‘Vette or a GT350.

Incorrect. They sometimes are. GT500 was on x-plan when I bought mine. I actually used that as a bargaining chip and bought mine for less than the x-plan price at the time by showing them a print out from another dealer I'd been working with.

As for me, I’m looking for a way to keep the GT and add a C7 Z51 ‘Vette but I’m critical on space. In order to keep everything I have and add more, something would have to leave. I need a winter car, I WON’T ditch my old faithful ’86 F-150 4x4 (It’s the first new vehicle I ever bought and it’s still in stellar condition all things considered but not a daily driver because of fuel economy!) and I’m limited to three stalls. A four post lift has been considered…an insane asylum has been recommended as well but I digress.
