If we can get a few hours of at least 45 degree temps and no rain, I really want to detail mine. Even though it's been under cover in the garage, it still managed to get pretty dusty...too much to just wipe down with a detail spray.

But fill me in...now that I can finesse my car out the driveway while I await the paving contractor, I'd strongly consider Chatham.

Unless you have a good sealant on the paint, isn't that typically always a bad idea to wipe down dust instead of just washing the car? Can't you get swirls that way?

I try to wipe it down almost every day when there's just an extremely light, barely noticible layer of over-night dust. I used to use detailing spray, but lately Stoners glass cleaner seems to work best and leaves no streaks. Micro fiber cloths are essential, and I don't rub; rather I glide the cloths over the wet surface in one direction. Remaining damp spots are dried using a hot air blower. I keep any cloth to metal contact to a minimum.

There's also 7 coats of Liquid Glass on the car, with more to follow this season.

Depends on the skill of the person performing the task. Could I do it? Yes, based on 16 years of professional detailing experience. Could an average Joe do it? Probably could... but they need to know what they're doing. It's ALWAYS safest to wash with a 2 bucket method, grit guards, soft mitts, ONR, sheeting method for rinse, then blow dry, then follow up with numerous MF cloths and detail spray.

fyi, MANY layers of sealant or wax is a myth. There's a point of diminishing returns. Usually 2 layers is all that will be useful. And the 2nd coat is usually just to cover up missed spots. Folks that think they have 7, 8, 9, or 10 coats to begin with and somehow won't swirl their paint because of how thick they think their protection is, are living in la la land. But hey, whatever trips their boat.

Drove to a friends house and managed to parallel park in this spot. A little too close for comfort though.

Yeah it looks like a 50 year anniversary or 50 appearance package... The easiest way to tell is an ecoboost will have a running pony in back, the v6 will have, a pony and the tri color bar, and GT will have GT on back
