Thanks - I also like the shots with a couple cars. That Blue 'Vette was a quick car and well driven. We played around in that session quite a bit - I'd lead, then send him past me, then he'd point me by again. Good stuff!

Looks like a lot of fun! Are your sway/roll bars still stock or have you changed them out?

Sways are stock - I don't have a ton of body roll, but the transitions in a couple corners could be improved, so I might upgrade them next year.

yes, it is A LOT of fun

It's hard to describe the terrified crap my pants while smiling and laughing out loud at the intoxicating rush of exiting turn 4 in the esses. I don't know how to describe it - but it makes me smile just thinking about it

As I recall you're using the stock tires yet? For how hard you're pushing the car I think if you upgraded your bars, mounts and tires you'd see an improvement in cornering. I’m thinking 1.1g's isn't bad at all for the mods you’ve done.

I think I know the feeling you're describing! I've tossed more than my share of used up undergarments due to that feeling! NOT knowing the limits of my car or knowing what it feels like prior to letting go...and knowing my insurance wouldn't cover any damage I do to the car is keeping me off the track with it. I might try a driver’s school if I can find an instructor that’s familiar with the S197 and can coach me on and off the track prior to me going out on my own. The risk is still there but somewhat minimized. You either have a higher threshold of risk/consequence than I do or your car is more expendable to you than mine is to me. Either way...good on you, you're putting your car to its intended use and having a ball doing it!

I don't run my OEM tires at the track - I have a GT500 wheel setup with Sumitomo HTR Z III tires specifically for the track. They are relatively hard compound, but they last!! And hold surprisingly well. I get the car sideways a bit regularly at the track and push it hard (as hard as I can with my current driver abilities at least...).

Car is definitely not expendable... I have a competitive nature and thrive off the speed but also know my limits. I have crashed before, so I know what not to do and I'm fairly good at recovery and not pushing myself and the car beyond what is possible at the moment.

A set of r-compound tires or slicks would do wonders for my lap times though!! I'll get there, maybe next season.

Deerslayer, Car looks unreal dude, like a total beast. That interior carbon fiber trim on the inside though... think that was a bad idea imo.

LOL, Carbon fiber photographs AWFUL inside. You would need to see it all together to judge the look. In person, the interior looks incredibly good. The Alcantra leather throughout interior and everything that WOULD be plastic is real carbon fiber gives the car a totally cool look.

Gabe... How's the install of the wiring via the a pillar? I always freaked out about wiring through the a pillar. My single roush vent gauge will have to do eh?
