As far as vinyl/paint, the painted stripes do look better. The difference with vinyl is that they can be changed far more easily, and since my wife is the kind of person that likes lots of different colors, I'm expecting her to ask me to change the stripe colors any time now.
I live in one of these snowy places you speak of. I love the snow. I love the fact we get all 4 seasons here. I also live on a freshwater lake, can't imagine what it would cost do to that in Cali. I never complained about having to, in fact i don't but i definitely will when i get my new one.
Some people here do hate the cold and the snow. I for one don't.

Maybe just my opinion but they who claim to hate winter most likely have never gotten wild on a 160+hp snowmobile out in the middle of nowhere or walked along a deer trail through 30" inches of snow in a pine forest when it's -20 outside and just absorbed the quiet and beauty it brings. I have all spring, summer and fall to play with the Nightrod Special and Mustang!
Lazer,
I'm one of the ten worse picture takers ever born onto the earth. I've never been able to capture the true red color of the stripes on the car. It looks different from just about every light angle...in any case the color turned out not to be the bright candy red I was shooting for. Its not bad, just different. Thanks for the mention!

I think it looks nice. There are times I wish my race-red stripes were the darker ruby red.

I wish I could contribute more to this thread in terms of pics
But lately, I've just been SO elated about finally being able to DRIVE her, post winter, that I haven't bothered to plan a shoot, bringing my tripod/camera, etc..... besides, still too cold out to stand around and take time elapse photos and what not. But really, I've just been so excited about driving her, period. I take every opportunity to go out. I put on about 100 miles on her since this weekend!!!
But anyways, more photos soon...some time.
