Legit question. You guys all hate having to store your cars..curse the snow and the cold..why not move? I hated all that also so I moved from PA to California. If you think about it, you spend months not doing what you want to do every year. Life is to short for that.

Why would I want to live in the desert? California isn't really all that great. I'm perfectly fine with living in Washington DC where I can enjoy my car for 355 days maybe out of 365, and enjoy the top down for close to 8 months a year.

It has its problems but weather isn't one of them.

I don't live in the desert. I bet you enjoy the Beltway traffic. Well I was just asking...to each his own. I will take all of California's problems to not have any of the "Snowmagedon" "Polar Vortex" or whatever else the media calls it.

Many reasons. Primarily first two for me.

Job.
Family. Includes education for kids, uprooting them, plus stability.
Cost of living.
Size of house.
etc.

As a person moving OUT of CA next month, it was a tough decision, but really it just isn't worth it anymore. The weather is great and I live only a few hours from just about everything, but it just costs too **** much to live here!

Actually, the weather is currently CA's biggest problem, and it's becoming a problem for the whole country.

There's plenty of places to live where you don't have to store your car for months that are not California. Im not saying everyone should move to San Diego, im just wondering why you would want to live in some freezing snowy place and complain that you have to have your car stored, when you can move somewhere warmer Arizona, parts of Texas, Florida, etc etc.

As for cost of living...I used to live in Northern VA D.C. area and cost of living is about the same as San Diego.

Anyway I was just curious. Back to the pictures!

I live in one of these snowy places you speak of. I love the snow. I love the fact we get all 4 seasons here. I also live on a freshwater lake, can't imagine what it would cost do to that in Cali. I never complained about having to, in fact i don't but i definitely will when i get my new one.

Some people here do hate the cold and the snow. I for one don't.

re: weather, I grew up in Texas and I like the fact that "winter" here is a reason to get the long sleeves and coats out, but it's rarely a serious change in the daily routine (this year has been the exception). Up north in the panhandle and in DFW, they do have real winter days but in central and south Texas, it's almost always above 40. It's a lot less expensive to live here than it is just about everywhere else, and there's plenty to do/see. But I'm of the opinion that we're letting too many people in the state lately anyway.
