11:1 Compression

What do you guys think of the 11:1 compression? What will it hold for future power adders?

Fantastic! If I wanted a low compression motor, I'd buy an old tractor.

Sure, Ford could have sand bagged this motor with low compression and other power detractors, but they've already done the good stuff and you get a full warranty to boot.

Will you be able to boost power even more? Of course.

Will you be able to boost it as much as, say, a 4.6 or even old 5.0? Probably not because this new motor already closer to its peak potential right out of the box without having to spend gads of money to get where it already is now (and pitching your warranty card into the trash in the process).

I for one am quite pleased that Ford seems to finally be going the full mile with its Stang GT motor in terms of performance. This thing looks like a very serious performance motor at its very roots, much more so than the FWD luxo-barge roots of the Mod motors (and look how much power they managed to get out of them). I think 500hp, naturally aspirated, will be easily in reach of this beast and the inevitable twin turbo GT500 motor will be scary powerful.

My thoughts exactly, although I'm not a big nitrous guy. It will be on my mind though

From what I've read, even the Ford engineers have said the bottom end has been overbuilt to provide a solid starting point for any significant mods...

Personally, I'm an N/A guy myself, so I like the CR as is...

No. It has knock sensors, so does the GT500 which has 8.5:1 compression FOR BOOST. Piston oil squirters aren't going to do much to stave off high cylinder pressures caused by boost-unfriendly compression ratios. The act is old now boomer, there is no more NDA.

We'll find out the motors limits as soon as people get their hands on them. It is not the Messiah motor that can handle 30 PSI. Physics still apply to this motor.

You can't even compare the 2 engines...physics or not.
It's not just what it has, its how it uses them.

(oh and I'm not talking about just 1 engine either, coyote is nice and QUITE capable enough, but the whole design of the family, will extinct a condor)

I'm hoping for a 5.8. 5.0 too small.

Condor is the GT500 dude, not the modular 5.4L it uses.

yes, I KNOW that, and it'll only be around for so long in that iteration

No one's saying the 5.0L Messiah; where is that coming from? How do you know what the piston cooling featured in this engine can and can't do? How do you know what the sophisticated knock sensors combined with the adaptive tune can and can't do? Who's saying this motor can handle 30 PSI?

Boomer's been right on pretty much everything; I don't know why you still insist on badgering him. There are things that Ford decided not to release, yet. Why would you expect Pete to out his sources just to please you?

Nope, Condor is the name of the 5.4L engine program featured in the GT500. That I KNOW.

Cause for some reason he seems to think that anything I know is all BS and I'm just grasping at straws or something...

MARZ I've not a new kid on the block. If Boomer knew specifics, he could state them with no "danger" to his source unless his source is the one SuPEr SEcrEt guy at Ford who is the ONLY ONE who knows anything which would unilaterally expose him if information was divulged. I've been on the Interwebz a long time and see this **** on every forum.

What ****? Boomer's probably erring on the side of caution, so not to get anyone in trouble, or he doesn't know the exact specifics. Every single piece of information he's related -- everything you threw the BS flag up at not too long ago -- wound up being spot-on.

I threw a BS flag on 468HP bone stock. The "400HP Mustang GT" has been common knowledge throughout the Internet community, it was not "Boomer leaks". No one would get in trouble unless he NAMED the source. Hundreds of people at Ford know the details, it would be impossible to pinpoint the leak.

It's a good engine to draw comparisons to when discussing BOOST, as the OP is. It's a 4V BOOSTED motor, can you name another engine to draw comparisons against?
