I'm not throwing ANYONE under a bus for you or ANYONE else.

I like my job, they like theirs.
deal with it

And you HAD a new kid on the block

It's a good engine to draw comparisons to when discussing BOOST, as the OP is. It's a 4V BOOSTED motor, can you name another engine to draw comparisons against?
You're basing your comparisons on that alone.... because its a boosted 4v.... thats it....

It's not only the 400+ horsepower figure, I'm talking about everything (the 468 figure came from a guy at Evolution Performance). The list goes on...

You know, it could be that his source or sources have asked him not to relate this information. I'm not sure.

Brembo stuff was broken way before I saw him mention it, I think he just gleans info from the web like everyone else =)

I'll dig some searches for comparison.

As you may recall, Boomer was stating that the final number depended upon how Ford wanted to position the motor, and not what it was capable of (leaving room for future SE's). The 468hp number appears to come from a post made last October by Evolution Performance.

Back on topic, knock sensors cannot do anything about the real problem with high compression motors and boost, which is cylinder pressure. Detonation isn't the issue. Cylinder pressure increases in a logarithmic fashion with C/R. Of course Boomer knows the answers, but due to his super saucy source can only call the "stuff" that deals with this physics problem as "stuff", so us plebs will have to talk real tech for awhile.

Boomer will just let it go and let you look like a "insert insult here" all on your own

Can you get off his coat tails and talk some TECH every once in awhile instead of INSULT?

All-

Please refrain from insults or name calling. Nothing wrong with heated discussions, but no need to get personal.

I'd watch the tune situation closely for a few months. A lot of guys are "tooners". Being this engine is new as is the ECM programming, let other guys beta test awhile for you.

This platform caters more to the every day people in my opinion. The really serious builders that will complain about the high CR are going to change it anyways so what does it matter? I have a hard time believing that there is a way around 11:1 and a blower on pump gas, compression just becomes to much at some point. Now on race fuel however

I don't see a problem with a 412 rated motor making 468 on an engine dyno with no crank driven accessories, an open exhaust, no air box and a tune...... easily attainable in my opinion.

Most here resemble that Gary. I think what people lose focus on when it comes to the bigger motor pissing contest is the fact that Ford has always made this car affordable above all other which typically resulted in "less is more." They leave a lot to the aftermarket that most other platforms can only dream of price wise (go on, talk to some cheby owners ) and they simply allow YOU the end user to determine the final outcome of your car. As long as this car doesn't lose it's affordability I'm all for more power

It doesn't matter how much power they "give" us, we'll always find ways to make more and break things in the process. Ford does a lot of thing very well but OE has it's limitations that aftermarket does not!

It's me. I'm the magical genie that gives Boomer his info and tells him what to post. You could say I'm very much like Kazoo from the Flintstones. If you have anything to say about Boomer or his sources, you can address your concerns towards me.

but seriously, does any of his really matter? Can we get back to the discussion at hand??
