Guess the wife like the color too- but her idea of 'fun' dont include a clutch or require a 300 HP V8...V6/Auto/Pony came up at auction today, and she got a pretty good deal on another one in my (maybe hers too?) favorite color- think shes gonna enjoy this, she's never really had a 'just for fun' type of car before- so we're hoping to make a car nut out of her yet...she already asked about sequentials!

Dang I was gonna say a 7 liter 4v VVT DI V10 making 600hp was better than a 4.6 liter 3v VVT V8 making 300hp.

that is so cool! I still need to take some side by side pics of my Dad's car and mine. He has an Alloy pony but it really does look cool having them together!

well after seeing the 2010, Ford sold another one- but no thanks on the 010 for me...picking up another Vista Blue tomorrow- a 09 gt stick at employee pricing

After seeing the 2010 rear especially, to me the 09 is the last of the best looking mustangs(2nd to a 69 to me, but close...) so rather than kick myself 10-20 years down the road(if I live that long), got one to squirrel away while I could...I really think the current car in 20 years will be the next 'most attractive' classic Mustang.

Are you trading one in? Or will this be 3 S197's for you???

Why not a GT 500 instead?

John- yep a third Vista Blue S197...this one wont be seeing the dragstrip for a while though- plan on long term storage, and when the current GT finally dies/gets wrecked or rustsaway, there will be a fresh replacement awaiting- if the current gt outlasts me, then somebody will have a nice zero mile gt someday to auction off

And no gt500 here, the 'bang for the buck' with a basic GT is just too hard to beat- and I dont think it will ever be cheaper than today...always thought 'if I could go back in time' I'd get a 69 fastback to store away- well that aint gonna happen, but the S197 is a far better drivers car and looks almost as good to me, so its now or never.

Not sure if newer vehicles will exactly "perserve" as well as the simplistic Mustangs of yesteryear, especially with the planned obsolescence of technology. Guess you'll find out in a few decades...

Yeah, that concerns me too, there is a lot more plastic and "synthetic" parts under the hoods, and it just doesn't age like metal. Like air cleaner housings or those stupid brittle custom vacuum lines they started using in the early 80's , they fall apart if you look at them.
