Just to play devil's advocate:

I'm pretty sure this is a Cobra. If we want to split hairs, couldnt it be said that anything else is "poser"ish?

but I seriously doubt there are going to be any graphics-packed Cobra II themed 05+ Mustangs out there.
Well actually Blake...

Quote from this site

"I really didn't care for what most people were doing visually with the 05 Mustang" said Sal. "Everyone was trying to make the car look like the old Shelbys and other vintage Mustang models. But I really didn't feel that anyone has captured the "right" look for the car yet. I had a vision in my mind of what I felt would make a beautiful version of an 05 Cobra. Being that I am a very big Mustang II enthusiast, and an avid lover of the 76-78 Cobra II, I felt the 05 lended itself to some great vintage Cobra II styling.
Sorry, I couldn't resist

No thanks. I will have GT300, referring to the horsepower rating in a Shelby style, and fender snakes, also of vintage Shelby style. I do not plan on adding the words "Shelby, Cobra", or the trademarked "GT350, GT500" badges anywhere. There is a white 05 GT I've seen at local shows here that is basically stock except for blue LeMans stripes and GT350 stamped in more places than you can imagine, inside and out. Must be custom made stickers. No thanks again. I am trying to go for the "feel", without copying too literally. So far no side scoops planned. While I like the round Cobra badges, they do say Cobra roadster to me, not Cobra Mustang. As far as the 05 Cobra II goes, please make it go away.!

Hahah, Awesome. Maybe I should have said "there shouldn't be any graphics-packed Cobra II themed 05+ Mustangs out there."

I'm gonna go ice down my crotch now. I don't think I can take any more direct kicks to the shorts today.

Wow. Interesting discussion. I didn't know there was so much passion for the classic-sacred-marques-of-past-Fords. It is of particular interest to me since I am in the process of "Shelbyizing" my 05 GT. Sort of. The style will be honored, but I shall fall short of "poseur" status, I hope. Anyway, I'm putting snakes on my fenders whether anyone else likes it or not, but I hope they will. With GT300 stripes, the GT badge is just redundant, and the snakes go with the overall theme. It is really interesting to note that the "Favorite Modded Mustangs" survey (wouldn't you know it, now that I want to create a link, I can't find the thread) included somewhere on these forums lists VegasJays and Acadians cars very highly as favorites. Justin actually has the SHELBY letters across his decklid, and Ian boldly named his car "Shelby". I guess we on this forum all know what is real and what is a tribute, and knowing that, we can appreciate lookalikes. I know I do. I even like some poseurs!

But not rice!

BTW, I like the LL Mach 1. (Is that what you were talking about?)

Yup, and my car was nominated over and over again However, at the same time I get told to stop trying to make my car look like a new shelby. Man, that really annoys me. So let's see. I have louvers on my car, if FORD releases a special edition in 2008 with louvers does that automatically mean that I was trying to look like the new special edition?

Ya know, I think Ford has already copied the '66 Shelby with those 1/4 windows.

As long as we're splitting hairs, Mike... that's a replica. your first dead give away is that there are no rivets in the hood.

It would mean Ford was reading this forum and saw your car and copied it....thats the way I see it
