Fanblades look 'ok', kind of reminds me of a Hot Wheels car rim.

Bullitts would be my choice of the two. However, like everyone said, it's been out a long time.

Ford should fire the wheel design team and get some new blood in there and actually come up with a NEW design that's both aggressive and classy. Everytime I see a new 911, Vette, 350Z, etc., I think to myself, why can't the Mustang come up with a rim design that says, "No need to swap these out for aftermarket rims, these wheels rock!".

So back to our current choices...
I do agree that Ford needs to step forward a bit more with their wheel designs. The Bullitts, like I've mentioned before, are just getting so old and trite and about as common as belly buttons ("Be different, just like everybody else!").

The Fanblades are a move in the right direction, if hardly an artistic/design coup de grace. A bit of a modern interpretation of some of the mid-60's Shelby mags. At least they are a modern interpretation of a classic design and not essentially a reproduction as are the Bullitts.

But yeah, Ford really seems to be a bit pokey and staid when it comes to wheel design. Full on retro is cool, for a very short while, and then it just looks old -- very short shelf life for that design approach. What about some very modern interpretation of the first Mustang GT steel wheels (in alloy of course, we don't want rolling boat anchors)? Or something else...

If you want to stand out more and be unique, go with the fanblades. I think the blades fit the cars form better. Although for some reason the bullits look better on a black mustang then fanblades do IMO. I cant judge on pictures, but thats all ive seen, and from all the pictures ive seen the fanblades look best on Tungsten and silver. and the bullits look best on black.

I just ordered my GT with Teri. We had a talk about which wheels would look better, and she's leaning towards the 64E Fanblades. I prefer the 64W Bullitts, but I was also concerned about the commodity hold on them. I didn't want to wait longer for the Bullitts, but, as it turned out, someone else had ordered a GT with the Bullitts before me and their order got pulled. So, I went with the Bullitts, and hopefully the wait won't be any longer.

She might be referring to me...4 days to build date! :bang: Just called ERL: My GT's ETA is 10-23-05 w/64W's!

I'm jealous! She's an awesome dealer, though; much better than others I've dealt with. Congrats on the build date.

One last pic. of the fanblades on black. One plus for the fanblades is that they are easy to clean. I wish I could compare with the 64W bullits, but I haven't seen them yet. (Besides pics)
Oh yea, another plus for the fanblades! I am driving my Mustang around and not waiting for bullits. (Sorry, that wasn't nice) Whatever choice you make, I am sure you will be happy.

I'm going with bullitts on my Vista Blue GT. Order got serialized today, so there shouldn't be too much of a hold.

The hold has been lifted. Job 1 for the bullitts is 10-3-05, so if your build date is 10-3 or later...no material hold. Rob your blades look great and so does that black beauty! It''l be nice to see different wheels on all the stangs. Just cuz I ordered 64W's doesn't make them the best! Variety is the spice of life.

P.S. Time to shrink down my sig.

To me, the fanblades really make the car look "tough" because of their bulky design. I'm very pleased with the finish Ford chose as well

One more vote for bulitts from a European Mustang driver's view... every darn Audi and Volkswagen kind-of-thing has something similar to those fanblades. Just too ordinary for one of the very few distinctive cars, the 05/06 Mustang. Bullitts is still a Mustang thing, you won't see any Passat with those :-)

The man has a very good point.

If I went in to the local dealer to order an 06 GT right now it would be with the 64W Bullitts.

One question, will the factory rims be the polished or painted antracite finish?

Good thing is they are Clear Coated. That will protect the finish. Waxing them is a good idea......I'm going to have to do that eventually
