64E or 64W with '06 Black GT
#3
Another 64E vs. 64W thread. We had a poll a while back on this.....people's opinions wouldn't have changed based on the colour.
Ah well, I prefer the fanblades myself especially if you throw on 255 BFG tires
Question is, which do YOU like more?? There's tons of fanblade pics and one or two of the bullitts....
Check out this thread Black w/ Fanblades
And I know its not black but here some pics of my car...

GO WITH THE BULLITS!! I just saw an 06 with 18" chrome bullits on my way home from work today and I was blown away about how good they looked. I ordered my 06 with the fanblades and am now wondering if I made the right choice. Holy S%*@ did the 18" bullits look sharp!!!!!!!!!

Fanblades, without a doubt.
Those Bullitt wheels are just getting sooooooooooo tired, old and fusty anymore, about as fresh as 3-week old pizza. I mean, what Mustang doesn't have them anymore? Sure, you can doll them up with glitzy chrome, but that ends up looking more "Pimp Your Ride" than serious performance machine.
Sure, they WERE cool on the Bullitt Mustang when they were, indeed, a unique and tasteful stylistic reference beautifully in context with that model. But then Ford just way overdid it when they clomped them on just about every Stang rolling off the line, totally killing their uniqueness and coolness.
But that's just my opinion :-)

I didn't think the 18" bullitts came out until late Oct?
I'm sure someone would have pics already if they were released for production.

Steve, all I can say is don't base your choice on what others say. Also, make sure you look at some of the rim options in person if possible. Pictures are not justice for the fanblades. I haven't seen the "factory" 18" bullitts in person yet.
I went with the 64E because that was available at the time and I didn't want to wait. I'm happy with the decision thus far, but like I said, I haven't seen the production version of the 64W either.

I agree - Bullitt for the old body was a match made in heaven.

I wanted to order the bullits but I would have to wait. I am glad I went with the fan blades! They are great!! I have not seen anyone else in town with fanblades, so i feel a little special.

Fanblades look 'ok', kind of reminds me of a Hot Wheels car rim.
Bullitts would be my choice of the two. However, like everyone said, it's been out a long time.
Ford should fire the wheel design team and get some new blood in there and actually come up with a NEW design that's both aggressive and classy. Everytime I see a new 911, Vette, 350Z, etc., I think to myself, why can't the Mustang come up with a rim design that says, "No need to swap these out for aftermarket rims, these wheels rock!".
So back to our current choices...

I just ordered my GT with Teri. We had a talk about which wheels would look better, and she's leaning towards the 64E Fanblades. I prefer the 64W Bullitts, but I was also concerned about the commodity hold on them. I didn't want to wait longer for the Bullitts, but, as it turned out, someone else had ordered a GT with the Bullitts before me and their order got pulled. So, I went with the Bullitts, and hopefully the wait won't be any longer.
