I always wanted some FR500s when I had my True Blue 2001 GT Convertible, so I was pumped when I saw that Mustang Tuning had them for 2005+ Mustangs. They're awesome wheels, but I just haven't gotten used to the anthracite finish against the Tungsten paint.

A set of black 18x8.5 & 18x9.5" Carroll Shelby CS66s (available through ClevParts.com) arrived last week. I didn't want an all-black wheel, and I wanted something that would match the classic Mustang theme of our exterior modifications. The Shelbys fit the bill perfectly. The 275/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1s I currently have are too wide for the 8.5" front wheels, so a pair of Eagle F1 255/35/18s are in the mail.

Halibrand has also sent a set of their 18x9" Cobra IIIs. Like the Shelbys, these are inspired by classic wheels, so they'll match the theme and personality of Project Source Horse better than the FR500s. We'll mount the Shelbys and the Halibrands, and let you guys choose your favorite.

The car will have an all-new attitude with the new wheels, custom MRT Interceptor grille, and 3dCarbon Boy Racer hood and GT ducktail spoiler. I'm not completely satisfied with the appearance of the car either, but we're only about halfway done.

I'm a big fan of it too.

I had several criteria for a grille, and the Interceptor was the only one that matched them:
  1. No foglamps
  2. Black honeycomb
  3. Minimalist
  4. No billet
  5. Grille pony
For my grille, the black pony on the Interceptor grille will be replaced with a chrome one--the same pony that sits in MRT's Cherry 6T6 grille.

The only problem with the Interceptor grille is that it isn't available. It took little convincing for Scott Hoag to agree to make one for me. They're going to make two more: one for PSH and one for Tony "fuseboy" Alonso's Tungsten 2006 GT coupe. So in the end, there will be three Interceptor grilles, and they will all be different.

Wow that is awesome!

I wonder if I can get them to make those headlight covers for the Shelby....

Even though that would be great... Ok, back to reality.

<WARNING OFF TOPIC>

Brad, the fuse box cover that you had sandblasted. I would like to get one of those as well for my car. Will the site sell any or can I get the contact info for the person that you dealt with since they might have a template already?

Would be a great way to see who was a member at the car shows. That and I think it looks great.

I agree that the fuse box cover (and radiator cover) look great, but I don't think they're economically feasible to offer to the public. The cover itself is $30 ($40 for the polished finish), and it's another $40 to sandblast the logo.

The Interceptor headlights aren't available due to their cost.

Agreed, I have always wanted the covers for my Mustang since the interceptor came out. Originally I thought they were going to produce the Interceptor (Saleen or Roush like) and seriously considered trying to get one.

I want those lights.....must...figure...out...a...way.

Maybe when the move is done and the Asak Scott Hoag area returns we can ask him.......
