Seat Mod for Shorter Mustang Drivers / Passengers

http://www.ca-mustangs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3708

This is a Little Mod for Those needing to Get their Seat up a Bit Higher. This is from a California Internet Customer who decided to Pick up His Parts at my Dealership so he could meet me! Great Guy his name is Larry. He used some Stout Material to make it as safe as possable.

Enjoy,

Kc

Luckily, my wife prefers to NOT be able to see what's happening. That way, I don't get yelled at

I still would like pricing/availability on the Power Seat retro from the 2007 'Stang. I think that would be better (albeit more expensive) mod.

Here's the prices and parts for the '07 power passenger seat. Perhaps Kevin (05stangkc) will sell you parts cheaper.

I have '07 passenger power seat part numbers... for the seat track, etc. to do the conversion. I don't know a thing about the airbags, though... as far as how to deactivate them, if you have them. But, you don't wanna be monkeyin' around without properly shutting them off. I believe it's just a fuse that needs to be pulled. Then, of course, using caution not to accidentally discharge the airbag is always prudent.... safety glasses and a football helmet might also be prudent.

seat track........7R3Z-6361710-A....... $449.42
switch.........1L2Z-14A701-AA........$40.08
shield/bezzel....7R3Z-6362186-BA.....$55.57
wire harness.....7R3Z-14A699-DA......price not listed yet.

These are the retail prices. I have a friend that took the time to look these up for me, and he'll know what you're talkin' about if you wanna order through him. I figure I would throw him a bone since he's been good to me over the years. He works for a dealer in Colorado, but he'll ship the parts free. He can be reached at 303.794.4343. Ask for Matt Smith in the Parts Dept.

*** NOTE: Air bags can be dangerous and should be worked on by a qualified individual. Work at your own risk. ***

Don't have the side airbags... so I am free to tear in to this mod! Any idea where to get the 12v to run the seat motor? Should I just tee off the 12v accessory outlet in the center console?

Now if they'd just come up with a way to lower the driver's seat beyond the lowest setting of the power mechanism. I'm only 5'10 and I barely have enough headroom.

Paging Kevin...

Any chance of a special parts pricing list with the above mentioned parts? Props to Clint for getting us the parts list but $449 retail is a little steep at this point in time.

HELLLPPP!!!!

Jason, you're not supposed to sit on anyone's lap while you're driving... you should have grown out of that a long time ago.

dude... I'm 6'2", and it's all in my torso... and I have plenty of head room.

... You must be sitting on a wallet the size of a phone book.

LOL.. I can't tell you how that drives me nuts when people do that.. not to mention that it makes my ribs hurt. I tip the front up, and the back down... so that gravity will take my *** into the seat, instead of slide me out of it... then lean the seat back to a comfortable position... which isn't very laid back. Since I have shorter legs, I sit a little closer to the wheel than most people my height. Then I tip it back to where my arms are confortable on the wheel... BOTH at the same time. Though I don't always drive with 2 hands, I do when it gets hairy.
So.. that was the long version of NO, I don't have it all gansta style

Yeah. I've noticed a lot of people who set their seats like that. (new Mustangs)
Mine is all the way "flat" front and back.
