Another Ford Navigation unit source
In researching the Ford in-dash Navigation units I came accross these guys:

Perhaps you're already aware of them.
As the URL shows, they have been around longer than pretty much any of us. I spoke with a nice fellow by the name of Ed this morning and I believe someone from United Radio Service may be following this post up with an introduction.
The unit in the link is new and for the Explorer but they say it is directly compatible with the Mustang. Ed said that if the unit was going into an Explorer the 3 year manufacturer's warranty would be in place. As this is for a Mustang they can only offer a 1 year warranty.
Something else to consider is that you don't get the DVD and antenna. If you want that the bundled price is $1400.
If there is enough interest perhaps we could arrange a group buy. As it sits, $1140 for the base unit is a pretty good deal.
This past weekend I saw antennas on eBay for under $20 and used Ford units going for around $950. (There are Mercury and Lincoln ones out there, but the faces aren't always black and they'd need to be reprogrammed if you want the Ford logo instead of the others).
Thought I'd share. That's about all I know.

I have researched simply plugging in a nav unit and to the best of my knowledge you will likely have issues. FYI
