Factory MP3 plug-in for 07's. Can I get one for my '06
The TripTunes Advanced, from what Ford reported, will act just like the factory AUX plug thats in the car now. Plus it will charge the Ipod when plugged in, and you will be able to control the Ipod from the headunit, and change songs from steering wheel controls........
Any idea whether the TripTunes Advanced will coexist with a Factory Sirius tuner also plugged into the Shaker?
IDK. maybe I am oversimplifying this. BUT......
This is what my research tells me. Crutchfield and others have an aux input adaptor for the 05+. Just pull the radio and install. Hook up a Y adaptor with a long 1/8" mini cable running to the console and you are good to go. That would cover it
OR.....
PEI makes a new Ipod adaptor that you can run in a similar fashion to the console. Plug the Ipod in, leave it out of sight, and have full control of the ipod through the factory radio. It runs about 150 with the harness.
I am just trying to decide which one to do. I want to find out if I can do the PEI one and still have an aux input I can use if I ever dont use the ipod or it goes obsolete without tearing the car apart again.

Any updates? All I find at Crutchfield is the PIE adapter for non-Ipod's (I have a Zune). From what I read here, the new Ford adapter will provide direct connectivity to the Shaker stereo and it should still be out in early 2007?

What ever you do, don't buy the PAC Aux adapter. After installation, it works fine for about half a day. I got into my car the next morning twice and it screwed up the electrical system, including the information system on the guages. My speedo, gas guage, etc would not work. They system would also think the parking break was always on even though it wasnt. One morning after installing it once again, I left the top down in my garage over night, it wouldn't let me put the top back up. Since it was raining, I had to uninstall the unit making me late for work. Once the unit is out, everything went back to normal. PAC told me they had similiar situations and could not figure out the right code for the dip switches.

As much as I hate the small amount of static I get, I'll stay with my DLO Micro Dock FM Transmitter. No issues at all!
my pie adaptor only gave me problems once. i then wired in a switch in case it did it again but it hasnt... its really nice not to have all that static...
if you get one make sure to correctly ground the adaptor, i forgot to and it resulted in a small high pitched noise that was very aggervating...
