Andrew go so weak we took him in for his Appointment a day early. He was at the point he could not walk unassisted. We spent 6 hours Yesterday in the Infusion room getting 3 bags of blood & 2 bags of plateletes. This will strengthen him for his Birthday & Christmas. He is able to walk again unassisted but is a bit shaky.
It's only a temporary fix though and the cancer blasts in the blood are now back at 50%. The infusions at this point will have a diminishing return. We will have to make a decision about treatment very very soon.
I will not rule out another miracle as we had with the pnemonia but it is very tough right now to be cheery but I do my best. I am thankful for every day but I want him cured for all time.

After Andrews 5 hour nose bleed he was pretty limited in what he could do as far as activity so I let him open your gift early. He is playing the wheels off of it. In fact he is playing it right now! Thanks so much! He is always in first place! Dad can't keep up with him!

Hehe, sweet!! I'm extremely excited to hear he likes it and is enjoying it....and dad too! I'm actually sitting very close to my driving set up that needs to be finished...I'm just waiting on my chair I ordered off of amazon so I can assemble everything and have my working cockpit.
I've gotten all I could ever want this year for this christmas myself. After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago (to the complete shock of all of us in the family. She is now in remission), my father was just recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. His surgury was last week and as of yesterday, he received a clean bill of health from the pathology report.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Kevin....and to every one else here as well. May God continue to bless us all.

First off, let's make this special day for Andrew, Kevin and of course Andretti1 and his family for being able to spend this holiday season together as families. I am thrilled to hear Andrew is home for this holiday with his family and will continue to pray and give angel thoughts toward his on going recovery. I know 2011 may be another tough cruise in his recovery efforts, along side Andretti1 and his family but together as an extended fmaily we can become champions on this team and go to victory lane together. Happy Birthday Andrew, and Happy Holidays to the extended family for Andretti1.

Oh wow Andretti, that is such GREAT news!!! My mom was diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer (in-situ) at the same time my husband recieved his colon cancer diagnosis. Talk about the week from hell! BUT...that was Feb 2009 and we are all still here, having made it out the other side...just like your parents did and just like Andrew will!!!! Being a fighter does count for something, along with excellent medical care and some prayers as well.

I hear ya about wanting "the cure" so bad it hurts, but it does sound like you're doing all that you can in the short term!
Christmas is just 2 days away...enjoy it, and the treatment talk will come next week! You have truly experienced a miracle, and I hope that it is an indicator of more good news to come in 2011.

Sorry I have not been Able to Update. Lots going on at the Moment I will say we had a fantastic Birthday & Christmas. I have pics I will post.
We are now having to deal head on with some impossibly hard decisions. I will update soon. I am spending All my taking care of Andrews Immediate needs.
