Andrew Casey's Cancer Battle
Kevin, I must say this and I have never met you. I am glad you have the quality time to be a family again. I know being laid off may have been tough the first day, but everyday since has been well spent with your family and close friends around home and I am so happy for you, Andrew, Terri and Sarah.

Andrew Condition in my opinion is still improving. We are having full active days & dads ready to call it a day before him.
Looking forward to another enjoyable day tommorrow.
Spent today fixing odds & ends on the Daytona and organizing the garage in preparation for Andrew & I really getting to work on a project together. Andrew loves organizing tools & parts.

Update
It was a pressured day getting through the morning and waiting to go to the doctor looking for proof of what we felt. We really believed Andrews Test results would reflect an improvement.
I asked Andrew to wear my Mustang Source T-Shirt for good luck seeing as how important a day it was going to be and the level of support we have got.
The Drive was longer than usual but we got into the office a little quicker than usual. Andrew finally started to show some stress in the waiting room. He was very calm & cool to that point.
Andrew was weighed and had put on ten pounds since we had been there last. The nurse came in and drawed blood and we started the waiting game. I commented to the wife that the Doctor would surely want a chest X- Ray to see how the pneumonia was. She flagged a nurse down and they said ok and Andrew went and got one.
Next we Asked if they could do an Oxygen Sat test as that is a quick way to check for some improvement. The last time he was checked it was about 85%. His test today was 98% That's Imrovement #1
The nurse came by and said the X-Ray was done and asked if we would like to see. She was grinning slightly. Andrews X-Ray Shows the pneumonia is gone! Only slight scarring on the Lungs were visable. Let me repeat that, Here is a young man with no immune system and his pneumonia is gone. That is number #2
Andrews labs came back and his numbers are improving but still are not normal. But they are certainly not going down the tubes as the Doctors had predicted. Improvement #3
Now here is the kicker. They did a blood Smear and and Last Time it showed 78% Blast Cancer Cells. Today 0%. Now realize this is not a conclusive end all test but oh my how encouraging is that. That is #4
Wednsday we go back for a marrow test to check for cancer level and friday we will get the results and will discuss Treatment options.
A month ago our options were treatment with a 5% chance of success or go home & pass away with family. God had a better option.
It's still sinking in and we are all in a bit of shock but I wanted to get this out there ASAP.

hahahahah!!!! Amazing!!! God is really answering prayers these days... i wish i could only tell you the ways in my neck of the woods as well. this is really great!!
The power of prayer has shown it has no boundaries. I can only imagine Andrew's excitement and feeling of not being in a hospital bed and dealing with doctors and nurses. Instead he is being a family and living the dreams of that beast out in the driveway.
Great news for Andrew and your family as well. Its amazing what a no stress and fun filled time can do for the spirit and immune system. Positive flow of prayers from many is a true testament, "where 2 or more are gathered in my name so shall i be"
Keep us informed, as my Dr. says, if your adding weight, your doing good! Awesome news Kevin, Prayers will continue, brother.
