Most of the problems with MFT were people not wanting to sit down and learn it.

**** you old people who are technologically illiterate bringing Fords reliability down!

Did you install the software patch that came out for it? I hear it simplifies things and perhaps addresses some of the bugs a few owners have experienced with the system.

Yes (for MFT), but never had an issue before installation.

I pulled the trigger on a 5 door Tuxedo Black SEL. Have about 1,600 miles on it so far and I really like it. The trans does take a bit to get used to and I haven't learned all the tech in the car yet. I need to figure Sync out. I did do the tech upgrade, it took quite a while and you have to let the car run while its doing the update. I'm hoping for better mileage, right now I'm getting about 29, I'd like a target of about 33-36. Time will tell.

Congrats, yea the transmission is different but I like it. I'm still learning the Sync/My touch too.
I drive mine like I stole it and still average over 27 mpg, so over 30 mpg should be no problem.
Did you end up selling/trading the Mustang?

No, the family convinced me that I was smoking illegal substance thinking of getting rid of the Mustang so the Escape went to the farm. When I really thought about it, all the stuff I needed the SUV for (kids) has now pretty much stopped. The kids are pretty much grown and I'm commuting 60 miles a day so the targeted use of the vehicle needed to change as well. While I enjoyed the Escape and it never really let me down, 17-20 MPG when you're commuting 60 miles a day just gets nuts.
